i awoke the next morning a tired mess as i usually was. i opened my eyes to a empty bed and light shining through the open window. i assumed clay would stay the night, but i guess i was wrong. he didn't always stay the night, but it was always nice when he did because it always made me feel safe. for some reason i was abnormally tired, so i decided it was best if i stayed home on the friday at hand. i wasn't sick, just didn't feel quite right.

sleeping in, in the morning was always refreshing so when i woke up a few hours later, i instantly felt better the moment i opened my eyes. i didn't try to get up, so i just stayed in bed on my phone till my stomach starting saying it needed food. who was i to turn down the request of food? i slowly started getting up and waking myself up as the sun started getting higher and higher into the day. i didn't do much that morning, just eat breakfast and sleep, but i had no problems with that. after laying down for a few hours after breakfast, it was eventually 1:30 in the afternoon so i didn't bother to think about doing anything else with my day.

as i was scrolling through twitter looking at funny tweets, i heard the faint noise of my doorbell ringing. being the nice person i am i went to quickly walk down the stairs to not leave the mystery person at the door waiting. when i eventually got downstairs and opened the brown wooden door in front of me, my eyes were met with nothing but my front yard. already in confusion, i took a quick peek around before going back inside and heading upstairs. you would think somebody would have left a note or a package or something considering they made an effort to bring me downstairs, but clearly i was wrong.

when i got back up the stairs i eventually opened back up the door to see the one and only clay leaning against the wall reading some sort of lost and forgotten book i had buried in my bookshelf. "have you ever thought about, i don't know waiting at the door like a normal person?" i asked sarcastically closing the door behind me as i entered the room. his gaze softened as he put the book down walking to me with a small smile. he looked down to me for a second before grabbing my hips with one hand and my cheek and jaw with the other, moving my eyes to lock with his. "who ever said i was normal?" he speaks confidently before turning and sitting back down on the bed leaving a dent in the sheets.

i roll my eyes and grow a quick smile, "so sorry about the mess your majesty, if you told me you were coming i could have cleaned up." i laugh as i start putting my room back together. "it's alright bubs, but i do need to ask you about something," he says with a pretty genuine voice. i quickly let confusion wash over my face as i put the stuff down i was holding and walked to sit by him. "sure, what's going on?" i ask looking down at his fingers.

"i want you to come over at meet my family."

"clay-"

"please?"

he says with pleading eyes and a smile. i already knew i was gonna have to say yes either way, but besides all the joking i was genuinely pretty nervous about his request. i mean a house full of vampires.. who wouldn't be nervous?

"your not taking no as an answer, are you?"

"probably not"

he says with a smile.

"i guess i'm meeting your parents then."

i say with a giggle. i knew if i really had a issue with it he would always be understanding and comply to my answer, no matter how upset it made him. "when exactly am i meeting them?" i say with a exhale looking up to him. "is tomorrow good for you? it would be saturday so we have no school." he calmly says while ruffling through my hair. "i thought i'd have a little more time to prepare but since i'll be at home anyways, sure." i say looking up through his hands.

"perfect."

"wait how'd you know i was at home if i wasn't at school?" i say in question. "i know you well george. you don't rarely ever leave your house, silly."
