He bit his lip, looking hesitantly through squinted eyes.
It is still there.
He cringes.
Where is grandpa? Where is Yuuji?
His nose soured and the monster blurred from his building tears.
It isn't supposed to be real! Monsters aren't real!
A hiccup hit his chest, involuntary ripping passed his throat.
"Zō-nii? Are you okay?"
Yuuji peered down at him, smiling the same as always.
Like there isn't a demon towering above them with a grin.
Hanzō hiccuped again. "Th-there's a monster..."
"Huh?" Yuuji tilted his head. He held his hand out to Hanzō who kneeled on the ground, knees somewhat red. "There aren't any monsters. Just take my hand, and you'll be safe, okay?"
His hand quivered even as he gave it to Yuuji.
Yuuji smiled more dazzling than the sun.
"There. It's all better, isn't it?"
His shivering came to a halt.
"Let's go eat lychees, 'kay?"
He sniffled. "Okay."
