CHAPTER FIVE
The lessons ended and we went to the residence.
Me: Man what problem do you have with Tanya?
Steven: Nothing.
Me: So what’s the problem?
Steven: She is stupid.
Me: Yea she is but you don’t have to do her like that.
Steven: It’s just for fun man.
Me: It’s not funny for her man.
Steven: Well, it’s funny for you.
Me: Invalid point.
Steven: Most valid point.
Me: What if her man hears about this?
Steven: I will just tell him that I was joking.
Me: Ok.
In the following 2 weeks, there were exams. The exams were hard and we kept on having lessons.
Mr Donaldson: You will hunt me on the exam day.
And he was right. We hunted him. English was my first exam and I was scared. I was not in the form.
Mrs Kay: I saw you Charles in the hall. You seemed so confident.
The principal misread my facial expressions because I was very nervous in that exam. As for mathematics, we were taught new examinable concepts the day before the exam. The concepts were in the exam.
Mr Vladmir: You have to memorise these things and meditate upon them. They will be in the exam.
There was a mathematics paper that consisted of exotic topics, 60% of the paper.
Tanya: You should not just memorise the pre-release program, know it.
Me: I don’t think there is enough time for that.
Steven: Yea, because she wasted most of our lesson.
Me: Steve!
Steven: What! She is the one who asked stupid questions during exams.
Me: Man!
Tanya: It’s okay Charles.
Me: No, it’s not.
James: Are you memorising this thing?
Me: I will see to it.
I did not see to it. I forgot all about it. I didn’t even read Computer Science stuff. Early in the morning in class Tanya came to me.
Tanya: Do you know the statements? I know the whole program.
Me: Really?
Tanya: Yea.
Me: I know nothing. I was reading Geography.
3 days earlier
Mr Friesland: Is it possible for me to have a lesson with you?
The others: Yes.
I was not comfortable with having a lesson since I had a lot of work.
Me: Sir, can I be excused. I am not comfortable.
I went out to another room and I slept like a baby. The following day we had a lesson too.
Friesland: These things will be there in the exam.
The things were not even in the exam.
Friesland: Map work has to be known. It’s not optional.
