These are the resources I used to help me create the Harry Potter portion of my fanfics!

1. THE HARRY POTTER WIKI!

Yes, again with the wiki

Yes, again with the wiki. JUST LIKE WITH THE PJO WIKI, THE HARRY POTTER WIKI IS VERY USEFUL!!!!!

- character biographies

- a layout of Hogwarts

- wands

- creatures

- blood statuses

- all the wizarding families

AND SO MUCH MORE INFO!! PLEASE USE!!!!

2. Questions and theories!

Everyone has a shit ton of questions about the Harry Potter series, like "is it REALLY possible for someone from a family of muggles to just suddenly HAVE magic with no explanation whatsoever???"

That's where theories come in! I'm a sciency person so I really like to have explanations for lots of things (and unlike in the PJO world where there really is no scientific explanation for anything other than "the gods made it this way because why not", the wizarding world's full of mortals, so I feel like there's gotta be SOME scientific explanation for whatever the fuck is going on, at least for the genetic side of things).

One theory I'm very fond of is that muggle-borns are actually descended from squibs. It explains how they actually get their magic rather then it just "suddenly happening".

Anyways, if you're fond of theories and want to incorporate them in your book, I'd suggest reddit :D There's SOOOOO MANY theories on there!!

Just google "harry potter theories reddit" and bam, you'll get thousands of results

3. Spells

The Harry Potter wiki already has an article that lists every single spell in the wizarding world, but sometimes you might need something more specific.

Most of the spells that my OC uses are for combat because the kid's constantly in danger. So I simply searched up for a list of "harry potter offensive spells". That was when I came upon the Harry Potter Lexicon website:

The list goes on.

4. Wand meanings

Some of you guys might enjoy making the perfect wand for your OC. The components of the wand are the types of wood + core. There's a lot of different types of wood used to make the wands, and they each have their own meaning.

To find out what the meanings are, I used the Wizarding World website (the new Pottermore, I guess?):

5. Timelines

TIMELINES ARE USEFUL FOR PLANNING OUT YOUR STORY!!!

Just like with PJO, I go online to look for Harry Potter timelines per book too!

This is the one I used for my current book, Eudaimonia:

As you can see, that timeline is four The Goblet of Fire, and includes every event that happens in the book in chronological order

I'm going to release another chapter on how you can use timelines to plan your book, but that'll be for a later time. For now, just try to find the timeline that suits you best.

6. The books themselves

I doubt any of you guys are trying to write about the Harry Potter events by memory, so obviously you're gonna need the actual book to help you write your fic.

Just search up the specific book your looking for and add "pdf".

That's it for resources! I don't think I missed anything... Hopefully. Anyways, next chapter's gonna be about creating your OC! Then after that I'll talk about romance maybe, and then how to plan your book.
