"Katie Sakura! It's time for your Match!"

The woman calls out and I nervously glance over to my best friend Maxon. I clutch his hand before my mother nods me on. Hands sweaty, I stand up, my legs feeling like they're gonna give up on me. My elegant sapphire blue dress swirled around me gracefully as I stepped up the stairs to greet the woman.

She hands me a small golden circle. It had sparkling jewels dotting the outside and my eyes couldn't help but stare. It was the size of a pocket watch, yet such a tiny thing held so much. Inside, it held my life partner. The one who I would spend most of my life with. It took so much energy to not bust the thing open already.

My fingers grazed along the smooth surface and I see the faint reflection on the top. "Please look into the board." I obeyed her, my eyes shifting to the rather large smart board which flashed black. I clutch my hands together, frantically fiddling. What if my match is a rude person? What if I don't have a match! Seconds seemed to drag on before it finally showed my match...The board showed a boy, with fluffy blonde hair and brown eyes. He had a small birthmark over his eyebrow and I immediately knew who he was. "Katie Sakura, your match is Maxon Bonish!"

I gasp and look into the crowd to see Maxon standing next to my parents, a huge grin on his face. I start to clap but get interrupted by murmurs and whispers throughout the crowd. I peer over to Maxon's expression and see that he's...shocked? Surprised? What the heck?

"Katie Sakura, it seems you have something very rare in the Matching. You have two partners." Those words spilled into my head and whipped around like a tornado. Finally, I look up to the board, my frantic blueish grey eyes darting around. It was true. I had a second match. Wait what?

This one was a girl. She had deep gorgeous eyes, flowing dark brown hair, beautiful face, but I had never seen her before! The announcer woman barges into my thoughts.

"Your other match is Violet Everdean!" It seems my life froze. Like time had stopped and only I was in motion. What? Two matches? Was this even possible? This can't be. "T-two matches?" I stutter out and face the woman. "Um, yes! It's a bit weird. I mean not weird. It's uncommon. I'm sure it's just a flaw in the system." I stare at the golden circle in my hand and open it. Inside lay mini pictures of Maxon's and this Violet girls face, with their names. But both of them have a 99.6% of being my match. There's no in between.

"Would you mind staying after the end?" The woman asks me, this time more quietly. All I can do is nod and stumble back to my table.

Some say two is better than one. Some say two is worse than one. But in my case, Two partners is better than none...Right?
