"Will Salem be joining you guys for dinner?" Britt asked me as I buttoned up a black shirt.

I was readying myself for the Undisputed Era's weekly dinner together. Though most of our game plans for shows are already written in our storylines and we only have to approve of the ideas, the group of us enjoy one another's company and believe that by being best friends off-screen, it translates better on-screen.

Or, we're just giving ourselves an excuse to be around each other more than we already are.

Salem was going to be joining our group officially on-screen this coming weekend during TakeOver, so I had thought that inviting her may be the best idea for everyone involved. Her and I still had some unfinished business, and Kyle still despised her. By clearing the air, there won't be any speculation from the fans of our recent incidents backstage.

However, she declined my invitation.

It had been the only time I had talked to her since the New Years party and I could see that she was still upset by what I had said. I don't blame her, I practically told her that she was broken and needed me to fix her. Who would ever want to be around someone like that?

Usually, my mouth got me into situations like these.

I had never meant to hurt Salem. I just want to be the reason she smiles again. I know that's not fair of me to say, though.

Turning my attention back to my girlfriend, I quickly removed these thoughts of Salem from my head. I gave her a small smile. "Salem said that she was busy tonight, so it looks like it's just me and the boys."

Britt shrugged her shoulders, walking up to me as she wrapped her arms around my neck. I followed and placed mine on her waist as we stared at one another, one of my favorite things to do with my beautiful girlfriend.

"That's too bad," she spoke, causing me to give her a questioning glare. I knew Britt was comfortable in our relationship. She trusted me—not that I think she shouldn't. She just doesn't know about all of the history between us.

I was lying to her face every day I say that Salem and I only ever saw each other for our five-star match.

Britt leaned in to give me a quick peck, causing me to smile. I loved the girl tremendously; I wasn't sure why Salem had to interrupt that. Salem Dawn obviously wanted nothing to do with me, but I just can't shake her. Not yet, anyways.

"I know the UE loves to do these dinners to bond. Shouldn't she feel obligated to go?" my girlfriend questions, causing me to shake my head.

Salem never asked for any of this. Why have I brought it onto her?

Because I'm selfish.

"She does—she wants her transition into the Undisputed Era to go over smoothly, but I guess she had a family thing, or something. She was pretty vague," I spoke, not completely lying. Salem's exact words to me were "I'm busy, sorry" so I figured my explanation was close enough.
