"So my Dad was he a Parseltongue?" I questioned curiously.
"Surprisingly, no. Your father did not possess the ability and he also declined to take up the title of Heir and Lord Slytherin, probably thinking it would ruin his reputation and ruin his chances of becoming an Auror," Ripsaw said shrugging. Making me roll my eyes
"Yeah because all Slytherins are evil, trust me I've heard that rubbish before," I said huffing.
I mean Merlin himself was a Slytherin and people practically worship him. I thought huffing again.
"Clearly you don't share his opinions then," Ripsaw stated smirking slightly.
"Obviously, but if I'm only a Lady of Slytherin and not the Lady of Gaunt that would mean that it's already been taken, do you know by who?" I asked again. Ripsaw straightened slightly.
"I'm afraid that's information I can't give away, but that person is both the Heir and Lord/ Lady of the Gaunt and Slytherin house but since they have neglected to claim the title of Lord/Lady of Slytherin it is left to you. As for the House of Black, the current Lord is your Godfather Sirius - you are the oldest alive Hier after him so you will be the next in line after he passes."
"I'm assuming that there are other Hiers of the House of black then?"
"Yes but again I can't give that information," Ripsaw said.
"Okay three more questions then I'm done," Ripsaw nodded and gestured for me to continue.
"I assume in wizarding society that the title of 'Lady' or 'Lord' ranks above Hier? Is that correct?" I asked. Ripsaw nodded.
"That is Correct, although Hiers and Heiress's hold high status as they are next in line, the Lord or Lady of a particular family is ranked above all others,"
I nodded moving on to my next questions.
"I'm a Parseltongue, but why is it that my father wasn't? I thought the gift was hereditary in most cases?"
"It normally is but...-," Ripsaw stopped and waved his hand and a file came whizzing into the room. He flipped through a couple of pages before stopping.
"Yes, what I thought, your father and your grandfather did not have the gift but your Great-grandfather Stefano Alberto Jenkins was a Parseltongue, so it must only appear every few generations or so In your family, or perhaps they just didn't unlock their ability we don't really know much about how the gift works since it's so rare."
I nodded slowly soaking in the information.
"Okay, final question and then I'll leave you to go back to work. I don't have a Magical Guardian why is that?"
"Hmm your right, I believe that originally it was Lily Potter but since she is deceased you no longer have one but now that I think about it we had a request come through over the Summer requesting to fill in the role,"
"And who was that?" I asked lifting an eyebrow.
"Albus Dumbledore, but given your age, we need your permission to do so,"
Of course, that old coot wants to worm his way into my life.
"Decline any requests made, I'll find a Guardian by the end of this school year and I'll get back to you once I have, can I get a list of my vaults and any properties I own?" I said.
"Of Course Miss, are you wanting to receive your Ladyship rings? You won't get rings for any of the houses your Heir to until you are the Lady, but you can get your rings for the Four houses you are Lady to?"
