A few days later ... My body felt heavy and numb all over , i felt awake but at the same time i couldn't feel or see anything . Is this what death feel like ?
I heard monitors beep and sharp shoes hit the ground , every single sound was evident but i couldn't see anything! A woman's voice was heard from a far
"Yes sir Mr.Carter I think he'll pull through, he may be a bit different but that's nothing time wouldn't heal " I could hear a pen hit a clip board , i got happy when i heard carter's name and tried to speak
" Cart-Carter " i let my lips cut against each other and tried to move my body around
" Oh my god ! Doc look !!! " I could feel that the both of them where now standing over me .
" What a blessing right Carter ? La'quan please push open your eyes sweetheart " The doctor i'm guessing said in a gentle tone , i tried to push them open but failed miserably
" Do you need my assistance? it may be hard for you since you haven't opened then in a while " She stated placing her hand on my head , i nodded and she pulled my eyes open with her freezing hands , the room was quite dim which i appreciated
" MAN ! never in my life would i think i'll be this happy to see a grown man blue ass eyes " Carter said laughing looking like he was holding back tears , i laughed and grabbed ahold of his hand
" La'quan sweetie , your about 80% back to normal which is a great blessing most people with your kind of wounds are left paralyzed but you see when the incident happened you where hit in your lower spine , pelvis, and sternum- which is your upper chest , we where able to achieve all the bullets out of your body but bullet fragments where left in your sternum we couldn't take the whole bullet in its entirety out simply because it would've stopped your heart from beating which would've been fatal " The doctor said handing me papers that showed each place i was shot
" So what does that mean for me ?? " I asked still in confusion
" Well you will not be able to do heavy duty things that pressure your heart muscle so things like running , jogging , or even dancing to hard or for too long will be a bigggg no no ! you can participate in therapy—which isn't cheap if i may add to try to build your heart up to maybe 85% stability or at most 90% but you'll never be the full 100% again unless it's a miracle from the higher power " She continued all in one breath
" So damn can i have sex still ? can i do that shit " I said sitting up in the bed
" Yes sir you can just nothing's too crazy so nothing over 30 minutes, you'll have to pace yourself ! But I'm going to go get discharge papers for you La'quan if you feel comfortable to go home ,Carter informed us that you'll be under his watch and care " She said with a bright smile
" Yes i'm cool to be discharged, can you bring me therapy papers too ma'am?? " I asked watching her nod her head and walk out ... i was happy with the 30 minute sex thing i'm a ten minute man i can make them 30 minutes go for like 3 rounds i'm straight
