"Happy New Year!" Emma and Norman greeted as soon as they spotted Ray leaning against a pillar.

"Happy New Year." Ray replied, stuffing his hands in his pocket. Despite Christmas being over, it was still cold.

"Huh? Where's Y/n? I'm sure we agreed to meet at the same place at the same time." Emma pointed out.

"She doesn't seem to be here. Y/n's most likely going to be late, though. At least that's what I think." Ray shrugged.

"It's unusual for her to be late. Emma, you did tell her to come, right?" Norman inquired. Emma thought about it and gasped in horror.

"I didn't tell her! I was so hooked on gaming since New Year's Eve that..." Emma rubbed her nape sheepishly.

"I see." Ray said, staring blankly at Emma. Norman knew Ray was annoyed by the fact Emma had forgotten to inform Y/ about their gathering at the shrine.

"I'm in danger." Emma nervously chuckled. Norman sighed when he knew that was a meme reference.

"In any case, we should head over to the bakery. We can probably ask her mom if we can wake her up." Norman suggested.

They then made their trip to Y/n's home. The shop bakery was still closed, since it was literally 4 in the morning.

"I wonder if now's a bad time..." Norman sweatdropped, worried that they could be bothering them.

"Hey, Y/n. You awake? We're outside, just in front of your balcony, right now with everyone else." Ray called her via his smartphone.

The door, that led to the balcony slightly slid open as Y/n emerged from it. Y/n waddled her way to the fence.

"I'm kinda...sleepy." Y/n grumbled, looking down at the three people waiting for her on the ground.

"Happy New Year!" Emma yelled.

"Happy New Year!" Norman greeted, but not as loud as Emma, since he didn't want to wake others up.

"Happy...New Year." Ray mumbled. It's the first time Ray had seen Y/n so sleepy. She was still in her pajamas with some messy bed hair.

"Y/n, Y/n, if you come with us, I'll give you a kiss on the cheek." Emma offered. You could tell Norman wished he didn't come early.

"I don't want newspaper. Thank you and have a lovely day. Stay safe in this cold weather." Y/n said going back in her room and shutting the balcony door.

"Newspaper?" Ray repeated. Norman sweatdropped at what Y/n just said. Well, she was half-asleep, who could blame her?

"What's with that reply? I'm shattered!" Emma got embarrassed. She wasn't expecting Y/n to say something so sweet, yet so harsh.

"Looks like she really doesn't want one." Ray evilly chuckled. He's glad Emma wasn't going to give Y/n a kiss, even if it's only on the cheek.

"Y/n, get down here and come with us! We aren't here to give you newspaper!" Emma demanded. No response.

"Now that it's come to this...Ray, we're counting on you." Emma patted Ray on the back. Ray deadpanned at her.

"Your voice will bring her out of her room to join us." Norman encouraged, giving him a thumbs up.

With at least five minutes of convincing from Norman and Emma, Ray had finally gave in.

"Um, so, um...It's finally New Years, so, I'd be really happy if you could come with everyone to visit the shrine as our first outing together." Ray bashfully said.
