November had come and gone. I run outside to see snow seven inches thick. I grin wildly.

"HARRY!" I turn to see Draco run up to me. "IT SNOWED!" He cheers.

I laugh. "You seem happier about this than I would have thought." I say. "Besides, it's really cold."

I pull my Gryffindor scarf tighter around my neck. Draco isn't dressed any different, except for a pair of gloves.

"Oh, you baby." He teases. "It's not that bad. I mean, I'm only wearing gloves"

I shiver. "You say that now..." I mumble. I rub my hands together and blow my hot breath on them.

Draco rolls his eyes. "Come on." He says, grabbing my hand and leading me to the tree. Draco brushes snow off the branch. "Come up!" He says, offering me a hand.

I don't need it, but I take it anyway. I sit next to him, shivering.

"Why are you cold all the time?" Draco moans.

I laugh and shove him. "Oh, shut up." Draco almost falls off the tree, but catches himself.

"Don't do that, Potter!" He hisses, shaking.

"You're cold now!" I yell indignantly.

"I'm not cold." Draco says quietly.

"Then why are you shivering?" I ask.

Draco shifts against the tree. "Whatever, I am cold." He says tonelessly and I know it's not true.

"Draco, tell me what's wrong." I say. He shakes his head. "Tell me!" I whine. "Tell me, tell me, tell me, tell-" Draco shoves me off the tree.

"SHUT UP!" He yells. He hops down from the tree and runs away.

I get up, dusting snow from my robes. "DRACO!" I call after him. "Wait!" It's a challenge to run in the snow. My boot catches on a log and I trip and fall on my face into the snow. I lean against the school. I angrily brush snow off my face and out of my hair. I look at my glasses. They're cracked. I throw them into the snow and cry out. I get up and try to walk back to Gryffindor tower, blinded.

As I walk, I keep one hand on the wall. I run into someone.

"Sorry, I-" I look up. It's Draco.

"Why don't you have your glasses, Potter?" Is the first thing he says.

"They broke, so I threw them." I say quickly. "Now tell me what's wrong."

Draco's lips curl. He doesn't say a word. He grabs my hand and drags me back out into the snow. He finds my glasses, mends them, and puts them on my face roughly. "There." He says gruffly.
I open my mouth and touch my glasses. "Why did you-?" I ask quietly. "You're mad at me."
Draco shifts uncomfortably. "Drop it, Potter." He makes to leave, but I grap his arm.

"Draco, wait." I say.

He whips around. "What?" He asks, and with my glasses, I see tears staining his face. My eyebrows furrow.

"Draco..." I say quietly.

He looks at his feet. "Just, leave it be." He says under his breath.

I sigh. I remove my gloves and his. I take his hand. "Come on, Malfoy." I whisper. "Let's go." I start
walking and Draco follows.

"Where are we-" He starts but I cut him off.

"Shut it." I say.

I find and empty classroom and make to push him into a chair, but I see a mirror. I look in it, and see myself but not Draco. I take a closer look. There are people around me. I turn around with a start.

"Potter, what?" Draco asks, annoyed.

"Do you see-?" I start, but I stare at the people.

One of them has hair just like mine and another, she has my eyes. I gasp. My parents.

"Harry-"

"Draco, shut up." I say. "Look, it's my parents." I shove Draco in front of the mirror.

"I don't see your parents, Harry, I think you're going-" And then he stops talking.

"Do you see them?" I ask eagerly.

"Shh." Draco says, moving closer to the mirror. "What is it?" He asks, not taking his eyes off it. "What is this thing?"

"I dunno." I stand next to him.

But again, I only see me and my family. I see people who look like me all around them, too. Tears well in my eyes.

"What do you-" I start.

"Harry, be quiet." Draco cuts me off roughly.

We stand there for who knows how long. Soon, we hear a voice behind us.

"Ah." We whip around. Professor Dumbledore stands behind us. "Do you know what this is?" He asks.

We shake our heads.

"It is the mirror of Erised." He says. "I trust you know what it does?"

"It-" I glance at it. "Well, it showed me my family. I don't know what Draco sees."

"It shows nothing more and nothing less than your deepest desire."

Draco breathes in sharply.

"Yes, Mr. Malfoy." Dumbledore says, chuckling. "You're surprised."

"I just-" He glances at me. "Nevermind."

Dumbledore's icy blue eyes twinkle. "Be warned, many have fallen captor to the mirror, staring deeply into it, longing for what they cannot have." He waves a finger at us. "Don't waste your time in front of something, just viewing, when you could be doing." He says and he walks out.
Draco stares at me.

"What is it, Draco?" I ask, confused.

"Nothing, I-" But he stops talking as his voice breaks. "Nothing."
