Chapter 35: Searching My Bestfriend (The Deal)

“Ford ikaw nga!”

Agad akong napatayo at niyakap ko siya nang mahigpit. I really missed this man standing before me. I can not help myself not to hug him that tight, because I relly miss him. I just can’t believe that he survived the operation.

While we are not yet departing from the tight hug, I find myself floating into tears. Maybe I am just happy seeing him again, coz finally, we could go back from where we have ended. I am happy that finally, I am now standing in front of the man I love the most, the man that I have been waiting for so long.

Right after we departed, he looked at me curiously. I have no idea what’s that strange stare all about, it’s as if he can not recognize me. Did I change a lot physically, for him not to recognize me? Anyway, I am not really the Czarina before who wore anything being gotten from the closet. I really changed the way how I cloth myself.

“Ford ako ‘to, si Czarina!”

I reminded him. But after a moment, he remained curious about my existence, that’s why I started to feel something off.

“Pasensiya na Miss, pero... hindi kita kilala”

Nagulat ako nang sinabi niya ‘yun. I waited for a moment, hoping that he gonna say he’s just kidding. I hope he just going with the trend, but after a while, he remained to his composure, and still acting as if he really doesn’t recognize me.

“Wag mo naman akong biruin nang ganiyan Ford. Alam ko na hindi naging maganda ang mga huling pagkikita at pagsasama natin, pero...”

“Miss, gustuhin ko mang alalahanin ka para hindi kita masaktan, pero wala talaga. Kahit saang banda kitang tingnan, mula ulo hanggang paa, wala akong maalala na kahit na katiting na konektado sa‘yo. I’m really sorry!”

“Babe, nandiyan ka lang pala. Kanina pa kita hinahanap”

I’m still on the process of absorving what Ford is trying to say, and now here’s Mikee calling him “babe”. Does this mean, they are in a relationship?

“Mikee?” I uttered.

“Magkakilala kayo?”

Ford curiously asked upon hearing me calling his colleague by her name ‘Mikee’.

“O—” before I could finish my statement, confirming that Mikee and I knew each other, Mikee butted in that stopped me.

“Hindi, nagtataka nga rin ako kung bakit niya ako kilala. Pero siguro isa siya sa mga followers ko sa social media accounts ko kaya niya ako natatandaan. Miss, mauna na kami ah, we would love to get to know you more pero baka kasi hinahanap na siya ng mama niya”

“Miss, mauna na kami okay? Pasensiya kana ulit kung nabunggo kita, hindi ko sinasadya”

Sabay na silang nagpaalam at umalis sa harapan ko. Gustuhin ko man na habulin sila pero hindi ko magawa dahil naninigas ang mga paa ko, at hindi ko maigalaw. Bakit ganon? Bakit parang sa tingin ko’y may nangyayaring hindi ko alam?

Why is it that all of a sudden, Ford and Mikee can’t even recognize me nor remember that I once existed to their lives? What really happened for the past ten years? Nakakapagtaka lang.

Hanggang sa pag-uwi ko, hindi pa rin maalis sa isip ko ang nangyari. I still can’t accept that he had forgotten me. After all the 17 years of bond we have shared with, kakalimutan niya na lang ako nang ganon-ganon nalang? Woooh! I just can’t believe.
