Chapter 9: Birthday Party (The Bestfriend's Comfort)

We almost forgot that it was also Lenard’s birthday, an elder brother of Luke. We decided not to attend the 3rd day of celebration for tomorrow since we also have to attend the other one’s party.

It’s around six-thirty in the evening when we arrived on the venue. Papasok na kami ng gate nang may mapansin kaming kakaiba sa galaw ng dalawang lalaki sa labas. They seem to force the girl to get inside the car, so I told Luke to stop. Bumaba ako ng kotse to check what is happening.

“Dude, what do you think you’re doing? Baka maistorbo mo sila”

Marco said while restraining me to go out. I doubt that it was the usual thing that happens in the occasion. It seems to be different. Hindi ako nagpa-awat kay Marco at nilapitan ko ang dalawang lalaki. I saw them putting an unconscious girl to the backseat of his car.

“Hey, what are the two of you doing with that girl?”

Tumingin sa’kin ang naka-black suit na lalaki at may pagka-wavy na buhok.

“Our companion was drunk. We have to bring her home”

Oh I see, mukhang tama nga naman ang sabi ni Marco, baka makaistorbo lang ako. Paalis na ako nang bigla kong mamukhaan ang babae. WTF? What is she doing here?

“What did you do to my girlfriend?”  sabi ko sabay suntok sa lalaking kulot ang buhok.

Agad naman akong binawian ng suntok ng kasamahan niyang naka-navy blue na suit.

Lumabas na rin ng sasakyan sina Luke at Marco nang mapansin nila na pinagtutulungan na ako ng dalawa. And since we were three and they were only two, we won the fight. We knocked them down with a blood on their mouth. Siguro dahil sa galit ko sa maaring ginawa o gagawin nila sa girlfriend ko kaya sinigurado ko na mababasag ko ang pagmumukha nila.

I get inside the car para kunin ang katawan ng girlfriend ko. I checked her pulse and luckily there is still a beat. Hindi ko mapapatawad ang sarili ko kung may mangyaring masama sa kaniya dahil sa pagiging pabaya ko.

Pinasan ko siya sa balikat ko at agad na kaming tumungo ni Luke sa loob habang inutusan naman niyang i-park ni Marco ang kaniyang sasakyan sa garahe. Luke leads me the way at don na kami dumaan sa likod para hindi na namin magulo pa ang party sa loob. Mabuti nalang at may kwarto dito sa baba kaya dito nalang namin idinala si Czarina.

I still don’t know the reason why she came here, but for sure, it was because of me. I forgot to check on her so maybe she’s wondering why I am not texting or answering her calls.

-CZARINA-

I slightly open my eyes when I feel like I was asleep for a long time. I was surrounded with sky-blue painted wall and curtained with dark blue. Where am I?

Iginaya ko ang paningin ko and I found myself lying on a bed. The surrounding gives me a clue that I am in a boy’s room. Agad akong napa upo at inisip kung bakit ako napunta sa lugar na ‘to.

“Are you leaving? It’s too early. Why don’t we shot first?”

“A-ah, hindi p-po ako umiinom”

“There’s always a first time baby. Don’t worry, we’ll take good care of you. Right?”

“I-I’m sorry, but I really have to go!”

“Bitawan mo ak—”

“Don’t worry baby, just satisfy us tonight and we will let you out”
