Aiden's POV
I heard her heart slow down, it startled me so I turned. Good she's just sleeping. My eyes flicked down to her leg, a piece of my shirt tied around it to stop her bleeding.
Control was something we learnt from childhood but seeing her blood flowing out like that... It was hard not to succumb my urges. If only she was truly like us, her blood would have no effect on me but alas she wasn't.
I remembered exactly what had gotten her into that state in the first place, I clamped the steering wheel so hard that a little longer and I would've ripped it out of the dashboard. If Adrian hadn't tried forcing himself on her none of this would've happened.
Pulling over at the house I now regarded as my home, my home until I got the job done. I got out and carried Alexa, careful not to wake her. I took her up to her room, laid her on the bed and covered her up. She'd be asleep for at least two more hours so I decided to go back for her car and if I was lucky I'd find the idiot that caused this.
I gave Jayden a call to come over and watch her while I was out. We weren't taking chances with her especially when he could be lurking. There was no need waiting for him he'd reach in 5 minutes or less so I ran back to the school.
The doors were closed and the only car there was Alexa's. I went around the school trying to pick up any signs of human life around, I found none, the jerk must've gone home already. But I felt like I was forgetting someone... Oh yes, her little friend.
I went back to Alexa's car and checked inside for her phone. It was in her bag but sadly it had password protection. I would have to tell Laurel later then... Or never, Alexa would let her know eventually.
I settled down in the car and drove off. One could say I drove like a mad man, luckily the sun had fallen low and because of that there weren't that many cars on the road neither were there traffic lights or cops on the way.
When I got home, I took Alexa's bag and phone with me and placed them on one of the couches in the living room. I sat for a while processing my thoughts and trying to get my emotions under control.
It seemed I had been totally unaware of another presence on the house. When the realisation hit me I followed my senses moving up the stairs and scanning every inch of the place as I went. I reached her room and had proceeded to open the door when I felt him seconds too late.
I was taken off guard and tackled to the floor as he landed a blow to my face. Quickly regaining my composure, I jumped up witch a kick to his jaw. I tried to land another hit with my fist but he caught it and held my hand to my back. With my free hand, I elbowed him in the gut. He bent over then stood up again trying to regain his lost air.
I was reminded of Alexa sleeping in the room next to us, what if she woke up? I needed to end this quickly. I ran to his back and bared my teeth aiming for his neck before I kicked his knee sending him to the floor. I stood over him as the idiot began to laugh.
"Nice one, for I second there I thought you'd become weak" he said as he stood to his feet an inch or two below me.
"Are you crazy Jayden? What was that?" I fixed
"Aww come one, nothing wrong with a little fun. You're just a bore" he replied dusting off his clothes.
Jayden's idea of fun always ended up in bruises and/or broken bones. Obviously all that pro activeness was in his nature, basically embedded in his genes.
"How is she?" I asked changing the subject as the idea of bashing his head into a wall was still fresh in my mind.
"She's fine, I gave her a bunch of sedatives. She won't be up any time soon" he said while nonchalantly leaning against the wall.
"Well you need to leave, her friend might want to check up on her soon"
"Come on Aiden, it's too soon. I think it's high time I met her" a full blown smirk was on his face now. He crossed over to her rooms door.
"I can easily speed up the sedatives"
"Yeah and I can easily snap your neck, get out" I finalised grabbing his shirt
"Woah woah woah, hands off the merchandise, besides I just got this shirt" he said smugly, again dusting of his shirt.
"Jayden" I growled quietly
"Ooh looks like you're smoking. Fine I'll leave and don't worry, next time I'll break your arm. The others say hey by the way" he smiled as he walked towards the stairs.
I face palmed as soon as I heard the front door open and close.
Friends eh.
I went into her room. Every time I saw her, it felt like the part of me that lived without her for so long was just begging to rip free and take her.
I kept a straight face as I sat by her. My hands instinctively traced her soft milky skin stopping at her jaw. I closed my eyes with an image of her in my head.
Even now I learned to see her eyes. Her beautiful eyes that reminded me of the clearest lake shimmering beneath the sun's touch. In them I could see the sun and the moon and every time she smiled I saw the sparkle of stars. I saw hope.
My thoughts were interrupted when I heard the front door being opened downstairs. I sighed getting up. I out enough distance between us as I waited. Ten seconds after she came in.
"Hi, what happened to her. She said she would be back soon but she wasn't, we even went around school looking for her. Sebastian had to drop me home and I've been worried sick ever since"
"She's fine Laurel. She just got hurt I'm sure that's why she couldn't meet you on time. I found her in the green house" I replied without turning back.
"Oh my, is it bad" she asked going to examine her foot which Jayden had graciously wrapped up in bandages.
"No she'll be up and ready to go soon"
"Oh thank God" she sighed then looked at me "And thank you for looking after her"
"No problem" I gave her a small reassuring smile I'll leave you two alone now"
I sat on a chair in the kitchen doing nothing in particular. After a while I was influenced by my scenery and decided to make something for us... Well for them to eat.
Alexa would be no doubt starving when she wakes up especially after what she had this morning. Besides there was nothing wrong with bonding a little while I was here. Actually it was against moral code it wasn't specifically written anywhere though so... I didn't care.
I wasn't one for cooking but when you've been around a while, you pick up some stuff. I looked around the kitchen and ended up with some potatoes which I had sliced into strips and deep fried in no time.
I dished out the food taking less for myself of course.
I then proceeded to Alexa's room to get the two of them down. As I neared the door I paused, all signs of happiness washed off my face.
I shouldn't have been able to hear what she'd said. But I did, and it hurt. A lot. Just four words I'd heard in her voice had managed to do this to me.
'I don't trust him'

So how do y'all feel about getting to read from Aiden's perspective? Should I do more POVs of other characters or leave it in Alexa's point of view?
