Part 36:Surprise Visitor

~Morning at Basu Bari~

Nivedita Basu was having her morning tea when her phone rang. It was her assistant Pratyush. She answered,"Haan, Pratyush bolo.Kya-Good news? What?! Mr.Bajaj ne Daily Blitz ke saath deal tod di? That's great!Kab hua yeh? Aaj subah hi, reason kya hai achanak deal todne ka?". From the other end her faithful assistant answered her question. Nivedita giggled at this,"Of course",she said,"Kaha Basu Publications, aur kaha Daily Blitz! Waise Mr.Bajaj shayad bohot desperate honge iss liye unhone Daily Blitz jaise cheap tabloid ko chuna Investment ke liye. I'm glad ki unhe finally akal aa gayi. I think ab woh wapas humse deal karne ke liye ready honge.Kya? Ek aur baat hai? Haan bolo. What?! Kal Prerna Daily Blitz mein interview ke liye aayi thi? Phir kya hua,.....woh Ketan Mukherjee ke cabin se rote hue bhagi? Par kyu?...Achcha Roma ne unki baat nahi suni. Ok, koi baat nahi, I'll see you in office bye.". Nivedita hung up and thinking of the news she heard she couldn't stop smiling to herself. Very good, she thought to herself, Ab hume kissi aire gaire company ke saath deal nahi karni paregi 'cause ab humare paas chance hai Mr.Bajaj ke saath phirse yeh deal karne ka.Magar...Prerna Ketan Mukherjee ke office se bhaag kar kyu aayi? Aur woh bhi rote hue? Wait...aur kya hua hoga(rolling her eyes) Prerna underqualified hai iss liye usse unlogo ne reject kar diya hoga aur Prerna rote aayi. Achcha hua, ab usse pata chalega ke usne mere bhai ko thukrakar kitni badi galti ki. Main jaldi se yeh good news Onu ko de aati hu. Nivedita quickly got up from her place and hurried upstairs to her brother's bedroom.

In his room upstairs, Anurag smiled to himself as he got ready for the day. Ab mujhe nikalna chahiye, Prerna mera intezar kar rahi hogi. Just then Nivi entered his room. "Onu!",Nivi called him excitedly,"You won't believe it I have such good news for you!". Anurag smiled at his sister,"Kya hua Nivi Di? Aaj aap itni excited kyu hai?". Nivedita replied,"Onu, Mr.Bajaj ne Daily Blitz se deal tod diya.". "What?",Anurag asked surprised,"Achanak?Par kyu?". "Oh my God, Onu",Nivi said impatiently,"Isn't is obvious? Rishabh Bajaj jaise high profile investors Daily Blitz jaise cheap company mein invest nahi karte. Jab maine pehli baar inke partnership ke baare mein tabhi mujhe laga tha ki yeh  deal nahi tikegi. Thank God, Mr.Bajaj ko time pe akal aayi.". "Waise Nivi Di",Anurag asked curiously,"Aapko yeh news kaha se mili?". Nivedita explained,"Woh mera assistant Pratyush hai na, uski girlfriend Daily Blitz ki receptionist hai, uss hi se mujhe pata chala. But that's not important, Onu. You know na what this means for Basu Publications? Ho sakta hai ki Mr.Bajaj wapas humari company mein ab invest karna chahe.". Anurag sighed and said," I don't know Nivi woh humari harkat se kaafi naraaz the, kya woh wapas humare saath deal karna chahenge?". Nivi let out a frustrated sigh and said,"Onu, humse bas ek galti hui thi, agar hum unhe iss baar approach kare, poore honesty ke saath aur unke saamne ek aisa proposal rakhe jisse woh inkaar nahi kar sakte toh woh humare saath yeh deal karna chahenge.....waise mere paas ek aur good news bhi hai tumhare liye.". "Woh kya?",Anurag asked curiously. Nivi replied,"Prerna ab bohot jaldi Baba ka job offer accept karne waali hai".  "Kya?",Anurag asked surprised,"Yeh baat aapse kisne kaha? Prerna ne?". Nivedita shook her head smiling secretively,"Nahi, lekin woh aisa bohot jald karegi, yeh main guarantee ke saath keh sakti hu.".Anurag asked,"Kaise?". Nivedita decided to spill the beans,"Mujhe Pratyush ne bataya ke Prerna ne uss Ketan Mukherjee ke assistant ke post ke liye apply kiya tha. Kal uska interview tha, aur Roma- I mean Ketan Mukherjee ki receptionist ne usse apne boss ke cabin se rote huye bahar nikalte dekha. Isn't it obvious? Prerna waha job maangne gayi thi lekin uske lack of qualification ki wajah se usse reject kar diya, iss liye woh waha se rote huye bahaar nikli, aur shayad iss liye uski tabiyat bhi kharab huyi". Anurag, who was hearing all this stood rooted to the ground. "Onu",Nivi  called walking in front of him,"Tum ab dekhna jald hi Prerna wapas Basu Publications join karegi, after all ab usse bhi samaj mein aa gaya ke humara alaava usse koi aur job nahi dene waala-Onu!",Nivi clicked her fingers in front of him,"Tum kaha kho gaye?Tum itne tensed kyu lag rahe ho is everything ok?".Anurag who was hyperventilating by now looked at Nivedita. "Nivi Di",he said,"Mujhe ek important kaam hai main office ja raha hu". Saying this Anurag stormed out of his room. What's wrong with him, Nivedita thought confused,Itna strange reaction-anyway, mujhe Pratyush ko kehna hoga meri Mr.Bajaj ke saath ek meeting fix karne ko.
