'Today's the day.' is what I said when I woke up for my first day at high school. Mom called me from downstairs saying 'Arata, it's time for you to wake up.' I was already up mom, is what I said in my brain but anyway life was going good and I wanted to keep it that way. I came downstairs to see the usual faces of my mom and dad. I've always loved them but they get annoyed by me and I get annoyed by them too. I already planned what to wear for my first day at high school and had them ready. I was in a hurry too because I was so excited. I took a glass of milk and after I was ready to leave but my mom insisted on me having some toast but I wasn't hungry I had to tell her that and she replied with the usual answer ' You never listen to me.' thankfully Dad was there to help me out and told me to be safe and have a good day. Mom was annoyed by that but I smiled looking at Dad and said goodbye. As I put on the new shoes that I bought after getting good grades and mom finally agreeing on letting me buy them. Finally, I took off from my home and headed towards possibly my new happy place in search of new friends and life. The school was 20 mins away from my home I saw a lot of people just like me, hanging their bags on their shoulders and some of them having expensive shoes and expensive phones. I got a bit anxious as to will I be able to fit in? I thought to myself it'll be alright. It was the month of September and the summer season was dying down. I could finally see the school building.
It had a giant clock on a big main building. The whole school building was colored brown and had a bricky exterior to it. It seemed old but it filled my aesthetics. As I entered school there were 10 mins to class. I started looking around and saw it had a big football ground and a lot of people in tracksuits were doing exercises. I also saw the gymnasium, it was so spacious.
I finally got to class and all of us introduced ourselves. I got a wee bit nervous. The teacher was almost 40 yrs of age and looked like an average teacher. There sat a boy next to me and me being a male was happy because girls make me anxious. I didn't say anything to him. It was finally my turn to introduce myself.
I got up from my chair and stood in front of the class and said the following, ' Hello everybody, my name is Arata and I'm 16. I like soccer and one of my hobbies is watching movies. I hope we can be friends.'
That was all a lie.
