The azaan floated through the wind, soft and distant — like a whisper from heaven brushing the rooftops of Paris.
Rose stood barefoot against the chill of the night, her body trembling under the weight of what she was about to do. The city beneath her glittered, unaware. But up here — under the solemn gaze of the crescent moon — a war waged quietly inside her chest.
She pressed her fingers to her heart.
This was it.
The end of her Isha prayer. The end of hope. The end of him.
Her eyes welled, not from weakness — but from the ache of strength.
She whispered first.
"Tonight... on the night of Shaban... I sacrifice your love, Hasnain Zaviyar."
Her breath caught. Then, as if struck by a lightning bolt from within, she burst — voice raw, loud, and holy.
"I SACRIFICE YOUR LOVE LIKE IBRAHIM SACRIFICED HIS LOVE FOR ISMAIL BEFORE GOD!"
The rooftops rang with her voice. Her hand slammed against her chest.
"IT'S THE END OF MY ISHA PRAYER, OH HASNAIN ZAVIYAR! IT'S YOUR TURN TO SUFFER NOW!"
Silence swallowed the wind.
Then she said it — slower this time. Her voice fractured, yet filled with fire.
"My azaan... has reached my ears."
A tear rolled down, tracing the edge of her jaw. She raised her chin to the stars.
"May Allah turn your hate towards me into such an agonizing love... that you start searching for me in the heavens of your own heart. So desperately... that you lose yourself.
But you will never find a garden in your soul...
where a bud of Rose will ever blossom again."
She closed her eyes, and with it, her chapter of him.
Preface
Human nature is as fierce as fire... and as still as a lake.
To unlock it, you must first understand the Creator.
And for that — you must have faith.
But to gain faith, you must suffer.
And to suffer...
You must fall in love.
While writing this novel, I passed through fire. I reached what I call the third level — The Level of Faith.
I fell in love.
I suffered.
And now... I believe.
But faith is not a warm, glowing light. It is a cave where you walk blind, whispering to yourself, God will handle it.
In this story, I gave my pain a name: Rose Weber.
And I gave her the ending I can only dream of.
A beautiful, quiet end.
And maybe... God will write such a story for me too.
Especially the way I've so vividly imagined it in my unseen, untouched, unheard head.
Because Rabb — God — lives everywhere.
Even in imagination.
And those who imagine... are often those who don't get what they desire in this world.
So they turn to pen and paper.
And write their own story.
So, the story revolves around Rose Weber — a beautiful young psychiatrist and novelist, surpassing every question engraved in her imagination that explains:
"The theory of what, why, and how."
Just like every other girl, Rose Weber befriended the idea that the life she was living with her three beautiful friends (Sophie, Ellen, and Faith) — whom she called family — would be as simple and gentle as snow.
Only if she knew...
That in a twinkling of an eye, it would transform into a devastating blizzard.
Her life changed the moment she met Hasnain Zaviyar —
a charming young man from Pakistan who mastered the art of flirtation.
Hate. Hate. Hate.
Love. Immense Love.
Parting. Surrender.
Immense Hate.
What else is In front of the Mirror?
Like a broken mirror, shattered from within —
the irony of the story lies in how Hasnain Zaviyar, a staunch disbeliever in the love of God,
becomes the very man God chooses to guide toward Him.
And although not through words — but through the heat Rose radiates when he is near —
she plants a thought in him:
No matter how many pieces a mirror breaks into... it still reflects light.
While Hasnain mocks her, humiliates her,
shames her body in front of friends,
and is scolded by them for it —
Rose still finds the answers to every one of her questions...
Through heartbreak.
As she continues to fall hopelessly in love with a man who,
cluelessly... rages at her,
yet yearns for her as though she's written in his veins.
But in chasing a man who sees her only as a friend,
Rose ends up finding the only answer that ever mattered —
The Answer of Existence.
God.
His love gives her purpose.
Conviction.
Strength.
And with that... the audacity to face her demons.
Demons disguised in the form of Hasnain Sohail Zaviyar.
The story takes a turn that shakes its own foundation —
when a Believing Muslim Man unintentionally leads a Disbelieving Christian Woman to find God.
But as the story ends...
The woman becomes a believer —
And the man turns into a disbelieving human form.
But would this truly be the story of Rose and Hasnain?
Was it only Rose Weber who found God?
Who really is Hasnain Sohail Zaviyar?
Would Rose Weber ever be able...
to Find Him?
