I hear my mother's shrieks and the howling of the Dark Sun Pack as they come running. They want to kill us all, wipe us out and leave a trail of destruction. I have to get to my mother quick, but all I could hear were screams and the beating of my own heart in my ears. For some reason, I couldn't move, I felt frozen in time, and all I could see were the Dark Sun rogue pack, come bounding eagerly down the hill, eyes bright with malice - they could already smell our blood.
I saw someone flash past me that I recognised, but a second later, they were flattened to the ground. I knew I had to run.
"Run!" I heard someone scream behind me, though whether it was addressed to me or not I don't know.
As they drew closer, I felt the adrenaline kick in and suddenly I was running.
"Mum" I screamed.
Then I saw her.
She was pinned to the ground by another wolf, no, the Alpha of the rogue pack, his jaws were dripping with blood. My mother. Gone.
I had no time to grieve, no time to even let a tear slip down my face, because the Alpha was moving from where my mother lay fast and he was coming at me.
I screamed as he shoved me into the dirt. I tasted blood on my lip and a gash on my face. The Alpha was pushing me further into the grass, his eyes were mad, ravenous.
"Let me go!" I cried, as loud as I could.
I shut my eyes tight, I was too weak and I was going to be ripped to sheds any second.
Suddenly though, I felt the weight lifted off me. I looked around frantically, and saw my father had tackled him to the ground and they were fighting. He gave me one last desperate look, tears in his eyes and sweat pouring down his face.
"Run Atlanta" he yelled. "Don't come back for me! Run!"
