Ethan's POV

Atlanta and I set off at around eleven. We're planning to get to the nearby village in a few hours. We shifted into werewolf form but didn't talk because Atlanta had accused me of defending Talia but that wasn't true. It was a shame that I had gotten in a fight with her now, as I had to ask her a question that I wasn't sure she wanted to accept. I needed her to reject Alec.

After about an hour of walking, Atlanta shifted into human form and arced her back and yawned. She dropped her bag on the floor and looked at me.

We were in the middle of the forest now.

"Atlanta" I said calmly. "I need to ask you a question. You might not like it."

I shifted into human form too as she looked straight into my eyes.

"What's that?" she asked, sitting down on the dewy grass.

"It's... It's about Alec."

"Oh?"

"Please. You need to reject him."

Atlanta looked shocked. Her mouth hung open. She stood up and smiled at me, then sighed.

"You're right" she admitted, "I thought that I could escape him but... I know he won't give up searching until I reject him properly. I don't know though, Ethan."

I watch as she returns her place under the tree. She's beautiful. She looks so undersated and yet stunning as she lies down under the tree and puts her arms under her head. She's changed into a short white dress that reaches just below her knees and appears to float effortlessly. Her hair is long and she wears it down as it touches her waist. Her eyes are as bright as the sky, as the Moon itself and show so much emotion. She moves like a dancer.

I watch her for a while, studying her as though an artist would, looking at her as though I never have before.

In the end, we decided to stay and camp for the night as Atlanta was exhausted and all I wanted to do was make her happy. We chose to take shelter under a willow tree, with leaves so long that it concealed us from view.

Atlanta and I shifted into wolf form and not long before we had curled up, Atlanta was fast asleep.

We had chosen to take shifts as we didn't trust rogues or big packs to attack during the night and it was my turn first. After 3 hours, I would wake Atlanta.

Atlanta's POV

I don't know what the time was when I woke up to a scream. I sat bolt upright and looked around frantically. Where was Ethan?

I got up and stretched then had a peak out of the leaves. I huge pack was out there, Ethan was in the centre, in human form and the gathering of wolves were circling him, teeth bared.

"Who are you and why are you on our territory?" one of them growled, I could tell from his aura that he was the Alpha male.

"Just kill him!" a female wolf yelled.

Then, I looked harder. I recognised the Alpha male, no, I recognised most of the entire pack.

I was living my nightmare.

Before me was the Dark Sun Pack.

They had taken away all I had before, now they appeared to want to take away the only love in the world I had left too.

Suddenly, anger surged up inside of me. I wasn't going to just hide here and watch as they killed Ethan. Mate. My mate. The werewolf I loved with all my heart. I was so mad now I wanted to rip them all to shreds, kill the leader once and for all. I was about to leap forward and surge into battle when I heard a voice,

"What do you think your doing? You can't just leap into battle like that, you know. They're the most feared pack of them all."

I turned round. Talia was standing behind me.

"What are you doing here?!" I snapped, I was furious. She was with them.

"Ssshh" Talia hushed. "They'll hear us. Look I have a plan. I'm going to distract them. You get Alec."

"But Talia, they'll kill you" my voice began to tremble a little.

She shook her head, "if they do, they do. Now come on, let's do this. All I want is for you to be happy with your mate. Something I never had."

Then Talia leapt through the leaves and yelled a battle cry. It was time. Time to save my mate.
