-- Work was as boring as ever, it was a rainy early afternoon and hardly anyone ever came when it rained like this... But no matter the weather, regulars stopped by for their usual while students skipping class swung by for a drink before running off with their umbrellas open and their laughter echoing in your eardrums. Oh how you dreaded the outside realm, you would much rather be home alone than here at work... --

"Mc? Is it okay if I leave early? I have a lot of homework to do and I have a major test tomorrow as well

"Mc? Is it okay if I leave early? I have a lot of homework to do and I have a major test tomorrow as well..." Your young co-worker came over to you awkwardly twiddling her fingers as she stared at the ground, she looked terribly nervous asking you if she could leave early. You smiled and nodded your head, "Yeah that's fine Jisoo. Go on and head out it's starting to rain harder so be careful okay?"

You waved her off casually as she looked up with a smile, she bowed multiple times and pulled you into a tight hug. Not many people received physical affection from you because you never saw them worthy enough, but Jisoo was different. She was sweet and polite, but she never overstepped her boundaries and talked to you about many things with similar opinions. "Thank you so much Mc!!! I'll cover a shift for you whenever you want or need!!! Thank you again!" Jisoo was still hugging you when you began to feel constricted, when Jisoo felt the tension she gently let go and said her good-byes.

So there you were standing at the register, scrolling up and down the short page of items for sell, no patrons were there anymore and you were slowly feeling the day's rain making you sleepy... You fixed your knitted sweater beneath your apron just as a small group of men came inside the Cafe with laughter erupting from their chests and smiles etched onto their faces. You knotted the apron in a bow behind you just as you welcomed the men in a calm, cool tone, "Good Afternoon, welcome to Espresso Self."

They hummed a bright hello before they ordered what they wanted, each man got something different than the other for the most part and even got snacks as well with their drinks. You caught each and every specification they said, but then the last man approached and changed everything for you from that first glance into one another's eyes...

"I'll have a coffee, black, and your favorite treat you sell." His voice was smooth and sweet, just like his good looks... Those beautiful eyes and clear complexion, his dusty blonde hair swept to one side, his smile was straight and bright, but what caught your eyes was the red suit he was wearing... All you saw was red, he looked good in red that was for damn sure and he definitely knew that. You cleared your throat discreetly before you told him the total, he handed you a heavy metal card with a smile and you returned his smile with a small smile of your own just before handing him his card back.

"I'll bring your order to you guys once I complete them." You bowed and hurrid away towards the espresso machine, making all of the cold requested drinks first. The handsome man casually followed you on the other side of the counter, his eyes finding your name tag. "Mc... You have a lovely name." The handsome man from before lingered near the drink pick up area as he spoke. You smiled awkwardly, "Umm... Thank you. You don't have to wait here, I said I would take it to you." He smiled still and shook his head, it appeared you had an audience now. "I'd like to help you as much as you will allow me, my friends did order quite a bit and I can see you are working solo this afternoon ." He pressed further, his politeness sending you tumbling mentally. You shook your head and sighed mentally, if he wasn't going to budge then by all means you were going to use him.

You let out a quiet chuckle before grabbing a spare apron and handing it to him, "Go change the sign from open to close before putting that apron on." The man looked surprised, but nodded with a smile as he eagerly did as you instructed him. He washed his hands before you instructed him on how to make the cold drinks while you made the hot drinks. He followed your instructions exactly as you said, he didn't speak much other than the occasional ooh or ahh, but you hardly responded to him with nothing or just plain polite courteousness..

Not long after it has started, you both had finished the drinks and prepared the snacks then delivered it to the table where his friends were excitedly talking to one another. You set the drinks and snacks in front of the respected person without a word before you grabbed the tray from the man who helped you and untied the apron from his waist, pulling the apron up and over his head in one smooth motion.

"Thanks for the help. I hope you enjoy the treats." You bowed and began to walk away, but the man stopped you quickly. "Wait... Why don't you sit with us? This was for you actually..." He pointed to the treat you favored, but you shook your head. "Ohh... No thank you. I actually have quite a bit of paperwork to complete before I close up shop." You denied the man quickly, but he reached for your hand to stop you from turning away completely and stumbled for his words, "M-Mark! My name is Mark... I-I... Here, this is for the wonderful service."

You looked down to the hand that tried to give you a large sum of money, but you shook your head again, "Oh... No thank you, that's way too much... Your patronage is plenty enough, I hope you enjoy." You smoothly pulled away and walked back towards the counter where you began checking the paperwork you had clearly been neglecting that day. A quiet chorus of Ohs echoed, you tried to play it cool and calm... But internally your stomach sank and your heart thudded painfully fast while your palm felt clammy. You could feel the air change, an awkward silence between the men, but soon the others quickly strike up a conversation once more.

After some time the men finished their treats and said their goodbyes to you, each man handsome in their own way, but the last man who you now know as Mark stopped entirely as he spoke to you, "Well Miss Mc... It was lovely meeting you, maybe I can take you out one night?"

You nodded politely, "It was lovely meeting you all as well although I'll have to decline your offer, but please visit again soon." You bowed politely and he smiled a stunning smile that should have shot you dead even though you had straight out shot him down, "I see, well I'll visit soon again Mc."

The moment he was gone you rushed to the door and locked up the shop early entirely, your heart thudding a million miles an hour... Never had you felt such ferocious desires to touch a man. Never had such a desire to talk for hours on end, but your pride got the best of you and your brain denied your heart what it wanted... There was something about him that made you cautious, like there was something unappealing laying dormant in those chestnut brown eyes.

You were definitely in trouble...

You were definitely in trouble
