We lost our homes.

Amelia thinks back to when she witnessed her mom get killed. Regretting that she left home in the first place. She shifts uncomfortably on the hard floor, taking off her gloves from the heat.

I should've endured it all, if I only knew that Mother would be eaten like that.

As she stares at the walls of Wall Rose deep in thought, watching over Eren, Mikasa, and Armin, who was sleeping out of exhaustion. Amelia feels pity in her heart thinking that Carla won't be watching Eren grow up. They had a simple life, living humbly in Shiganshina, not asking for anything else but peace and quiet. That was supposed to be life right? You grow old, you live on your own and visit your family in the weekends, and then you die.

How tiring life is with only that, now I have to deal with large monsters?

Amelia gulps down the last of the alcohol that she managed to grab from the vendors, using her kind voice and femininity. She can feel her veins relax and release tension, letting the effect kick in.

After years of gaining her independence, despite being haunted by the rumors of her running away and rebelling against her parents, she forgot about the titans. She never paid attention to it in the first place since she was too busy becoming the perfect daughter and doctor of Mr. Jaegar.

Where is that bastard anyway?

She frowns and sighs in exhaustion, finally laying down, closing her eyes as she supports her head with her one arm.

"Amelia-nee.", she can feel someone shaking her body gently, she opens her eyes and sees Mikasa looking at her.

"Yes, Mikasa?", Amelia manages to say as she grips her head, which was pounding in pain.

"They are handing out food.", she replies with her usual tone of voice, Amelia nods in response. She lifts herself up, barely, and takes a look at Eren. He was tossing and turning, clearly sweating. The young doctor looks at Mikasa and notices the concerned look in her face, before Mikasa speaks, Amelia gestures her to stop.

"Oi, Eren.", she nudges him with force, knowing how her brother sleeps deeply with his strange dreams.

"Huh? Amelia-nee, Mikasa.", Eren says groggily.

"You were having a nightmare.", Mikasa tells him while she watches Eren sit up, scratching his head.

"I feel like I just saw Dad...", Eren mutters, but not low enough for Amelia to hear.

"Tch. Where is he anyway?", Amelia says with a disgusted tone.

"No, he was just dreaming.", Mikasa says.

"I see.", Eren replies.

"Yeah, stop hoping that our old man would come back too soon, he's probably treating injured victims, trying to be a pretend hero like he always wanted to be.", Amelia says bitterly, instantly regretting it, "Oh, sorry, I didn't mean to badmouth him like that."

Amelia looks at Eren and notices a necklace that contains a key, a familiar one.

"What's that?", she points at the item.

"I think it's the key for the basement, dad promised to finally show me.", Eren says, "Well, that was before.."

"Basement?", Amelia looks at him cluelessly, "What basement? We had a basement?"
