Chapter 12

Jennie POV

I'm surrounded by a mountain of paperwork and it's giving me a headache. I leaned back to my chair as I closed my eyes for a moment

When will this paperwork end I mentally asked? I massage the temples of my head, I think I'm getting migraines from all this stress maybe I should call my stress reliever so at least I could take my mind off work for a while.

I grabbed my phone and dialed Lisa, after a couple of rings she picked up. I forgot that she's at work but she answered so maybe she's on a break

"Hi, Nini. What's up?" Just hearing her voice wiped the stress off me. I couldn't help myself but smile

"Nothing. Just stress at work and wanted to hear your voice" I sighed and walked towards the floor to ceiling windows and gaze at the beautiful busy city of Seoul

"Aw, want me to come and visit you?" She giggled like a kid which made me giggle as well. I don't think there are any bad things in Lisa's body, she's just perfectly beautiful and sweet. But I don't want her to get in trouble and ditch work

"Don't you have work?" I asked because I'm pretty sure she does if she didn't she would have told me last night

"I do but if you wanted to see me why not? Tzuyu is here as well she could cover up for me" she suggested like she owns the store. As much as I wanted to see her even just for a little but that would be selfish

"Babo don't it's okay. I'll just see you later tonight. Okay?" I heard her took a deep sigh on the other line

"Oookaaay... I'll pick you later. I love you" I don't know why but Lisa has been consistently picking me up every day. It's a hassle for her because after her barista shift or store shift she would go directly to my office, well not inside because she's scared to see my dad, then take all the way home then go to the bar. Mind you that she just walks from there to here

I already told her that she could just rest until her bar shift but she keeps on insisting maybe it's a way for her to spend some time with which I very much appreciate

"Okay, Lili I love you too" and hang up the phone. I was about to get started once again when my doors burst open revealing a smirking guy in a nicely fitted suit who ran towards my table and sat on the last bit of space it had because of the number of papers all over.

"What the hell Bobby! You could have knocked" I tried to arrange some of the papers that were disheveled because of him barging and sitting on my table

"Calm down Jenniebean haha I'm just here to ask about the rumor" he crossed his leg acting all posh and stuff

"What rumor?" I raised my eyebrow waiting for him to spit it out. The sooner he tells me, the sooner I'll get back to my work

"Well... I heard a certain bird tweet that you had a disastrous family dinner a week ago" he brushed his nails on his shoulder and stood up leaned towards me with a cheekily smile plastered on his face

"Why are you talking like that you weirdo" I pushed his face away and grabbed my pen and the paper I was reading a while ago "and yes we did have a 'disastrous' evening because of my dad!" Just thinking about it makes my blood boil but somehow Lisa just forgot all about it, like it never happened but I don't and I won't allow my father to treat her badly just because it doesn't meet his standards

"Well? Tell me all the deets! What happened?" He laughed and slouched on the couch in my office, his foot up and his arms behind his head like it's his place. I threw a ball pen and at him and landed on his chin glaring at me
