Chapter 6 - Telling the Truth & Facing Jaden

Chapter 6:

I awaken to the annoying sound of someone knocking on the door. I took a glance at the clock. Who is knocking at this hour, its only 7:45 AM? As I rubbed my tired eyes, I come back to the realization again, that this wasn't my room and this wasn't the same ordinary day I was so familiar with.

I remembered yesterday evening, after Riley left I ate my meal and eventually I felt fatigue and fell asleep. Oh right, Riley said she was going to meet me in the morning but I didn't know she meant this early.

The knocking on my door started up again but this time it was accompanied by Riley's voice. "Michelle, you awake yet, it's me Riley". I slowly shifted the bed sheets away from me, threw my legs over one side of the bed and slid on my black shoes. The door unlocked as I heard her say "I'm coming in".

"Good morning" Riley said, as she opened the door and came into the room.  She was wearing casual clothes this time, a black leather jacket with black skinning jeans. I became immediately disappointed when I saw her enter. My stomach rumbled, I was hoping she would bring me my breakfast but she came empty handed.

"Morning" I said, disappointedly.

"Hey you don't sound too good. How are you feeling? Did the pain killers I gave yesterday work?"

"Yeah, yeah I'm feeling much better" I answered. I guess all I needed was enough rest. My head was no longer pounding and I didn't feel dizzy anymore.

"Okay, that's good"

 "How came you came so early?" I asked.

"Oh right, I have to explain a few things to you. First things first, as I expected Jaden has no real use for you yet. So seeing that he can't keep you here, as people are going to start questioning your disappearance, he is going to let you go back to your maid duties in the hotel"

"What! Really...wait does this mean he is letting me go?" I asked in confusion.

"Not exactly, he isn't letting you go rather he is letting you do what you want till he figures out the next stage in his plans" Riley answered.

Okay, now I was more confused than ever. "Plans? What plans?"

"Huh? Oh never mind about that - oh here your phone, your gonna need that back" Riley said handing me my white smart phone. I quickly patted my pockets, I didn't even realise it was gone.

"Something wrong?"

"Why are you giving this back to me?" I say as I take the phone out of her hands.

"While you're at work Jaden may contact you occasionally when you are needed, so once you receive a message you have to make it to the penthouse as soon as possible for further instructions" Riley explained.

"What do you mean carry out further instructions...what about my job I can't just leave at any time and my apartment, can I go back-"

"Don't worry about your job, Jaden can get you dismissed from work whenever he wants and another thing, this is your room now. It is more efficient if stay in the hotel at all times. Today pack everything from your old apartment and bring it over here. This way Jaden can keep track of you and if you are needed, you will always be here on time to complete his orders. Here, this is the card to the penthouse, you can't enter without it" Riley said handing me a hotel pass card.
