Chapter 2:

"$ 79,000 by seat 4"

I sat up in the small cage I was trapped in, after trying to calm my nerves and clear my thoughts, I remembered all the events that had happened today. So this is how I ended up in this auction. I felt like crying but didn't. It was weird, like my brain was still not accepting the fact that this was happening, that this was reality. I've been subconsciously keeping a secret in my mind, the wishful thinking that this will be all over soon and I'll be living my normal life again. Drama like this just doesn't happen to me, I'm just an ordinary person living an ordinary life.

Talk about a crazy day. Wait was it still evening or is it a new day, how long have I been knocked out for? Am I still in the hotel? Do any other employees know about this place? My muscles immediately began to tense up but I soon remind myself either way I was still going to be stuck here, there was no point stressing myself out.

I recalled one phrase that rang in my ears when I awoke "This was a very important piece that was going to be auctioned off tonight!" I figured it out! It's still the same day! ...wait that's not it...and it hits me.

I swore out loud but it came out as a muffled hum due to the duck tape securing my lips in place. I can't believe I was replaced by a stupid but beautiful mound of sculptured clay. This was all Erika's fault, if she hadn't-

"$150,000 by Seat 10"

I snapped my head up, looking for the bidder who raised their number card. Oh god! Even though he was wearing a mask I could tell it was that sleazy man I met at the lift, what was he doing here? I knew there was something not right about him.

"$150,000 by seat 10, now $160,000, now $160,000, will ya' give me $160,000" the auctioneer repeated.

Suddenly the crowd stopped bidding.

I remained completely still, eyes wide in shock, the sleaze bag's grin was wide as ever. Oh no, no, no, no,no. I'd rather die! He isn't going to be the person that is going to buy me...someone please, anyone...

"Going once..."the auctioneer lowly announced, there was a build up of so much tension in the air, I couldn't breathe.

Suddenly the auctioneer went silent. I heard footsteps shuffling across the stage.

10 seconds later the auctioneer's voice returned, "Sorry I've just been informed that seat 94 has made a whopping bid of $200,000" the auctioneer's voice rumbled throughout the hall as he mentioned the price.

200,000 freakin' dollars?! Someone paid that much for me - Wait, why am I only worth 200 grand, i should cost more than that! hec , i should be priceless im a frikin human being.

"Going once, going twice, sold! To the handsome man in seat 94" the auctioneer exclaimed without trying to hide the excitement in his voice. I guess he got way more than he was initially going to get with that vase.

I scanned the theatre hall, searching for the man that had bought me. I looked through the many rows of seats until I noticed the heads in the audience are all facing one direction. i followed their gaze and looked up, my eyes found the balcony level in the theatre hall. There he was, as he stood up he whispered in the ear of the man next to him and left through the exit behind him.

I looked down facing the audience. The sound level in the hall grew louder as the audience were all getting up and making their way towards the exit.
