Eric stabbed his stomach, again and again.

He couldn't take it anymore. It had been bothering him all week. A strange feeling.

Like something was inside—

The strange feeling began to subside, then vanished altogether. Something cold flooded his system.

It might've been the physical shock. Or signs of death's approach.

Eric sighed in relief, but wasn't finished.

He had only just opened himself.

Wide enough for him to reach inside—

He plunged his hands, dug around. He gripped what was waiting, slithering, curling and uncurling.

He bit his tongue, then tore out—

The tendril quickly died in his hands, newly born.
