I placed the last few clean coffee cups on the trays. Things had settled down a bit, Ale hasn’t showed up in a few days, and I’m glad he hasn’t. The less I see him the better, I wanted to leave him behind and the only way I could was not to see him around.

Linda placed the tray onto of the counter sighing tiredly, we had been working all day today. We were both exhausted and the coffee shop wasn’t closing until midnight tonight. My mom likes to keep the café open late for students who have night classes, they seem to enjoy the coffee better at night.

The door opened and Samuel stepped in, his hands were tucked in his sweater, and his hair was nicely tucked in a beanie. He looks up at me and smiles. It’s been weird having him around, although he had the same characteristics as Ale, he was nothing compared to him.

Samuel was calmer, and he had patience with me. He walked towards us and sat on the chair, yawning tiredly.

“Can I get you something?” I asked him, giving him a look.

“No I’m good. At what time do you get out?” He asked me.

I looked up at the clock and sighed. “In another three hours, why?”

He glances at Linda who seemed to be ease dropping; he cleared his throat before speaking. “Well I was thinking maybe we could get something to eat when you get out,” He said nervously.

I stood there stunned. He was asking me on a date. A small smile crossed my face, I hadn’t been on a date in so long, it would be nice. Linda bumped into be giving me her usual look. She wanted me to go.

“I would love too.” I smiled.

“You can go now, I can handle the café here.” Linda stated.

“You sure?”

She nodded pushing me out of the counter. “You just go, the café doesn’t get pact any way at night.” She assured me.

I didn’t argue with her, I took off the apron and placed it on the hook. I grabbed my sweater from underneath the counter. Samuel walked behind me as we stepped out of the café. He was quiet than normal, which only meant something was wrong with him.

“You okay?” I questioned him bumping my hip into him.

He chuckled softly. “Yeah, I just have been thinking a lot lately.” He said

“Oh, is Samuel in love?” I wiggled my eyebrows at him.

He pushed me away from him with his hand. “Pshh, don’t over r exaggerate!” He scoffed.

“Then what is it?”

He looked down at me and shrugged. “I’m interested in someone.” He simply said.

“So is that a bad thing?” I asked him confused.

He shook his head. “I just don’t think I should be interested in this girl.”

He grabbed onto my arm pulling me towards him as a group of high school kids passed by us. They kept pushing each other and almost hit me in the face. I look up at Samuel laughing embarrassedly. It was weird how every time I was about to fall or I’m hurting he seems to end up being there. I don’t mind it, but I’m getting attached to him.

Samuel stayed quiet again as we walked to who knows where. I didn’t ask him where we going o eat, or where we were headed. After the night at the park, sometimes we would just look at each other and we would walk out the house and walk. We would keep doing it until one of us spoke out and we would turn around and go home.
