Alejandro’s Point OF View:

My mom glanced over her shoulder sighing at me. I had given her the news that I asked Arianna to marry me, she wasn’t so happy about it. Somehow  I wasn’t either, I loved her, but not enough to spend my entire life with her, but if I leave Arianna I know she wouldn’t find a guy who would put up with her crap like I do. I was more marring her with pity than anything else, she made me happy, and she calmed down a little with her attitudes, but every now and then she had a attitude from hell.

“I just don’t think you are doing the best choice, son.” She said, closing the cabinet after putting away all the clean dishes.

“Mom, honestly who is going to fall for Arianna? Have you not notice how of ugly of a personality she has?” I asked her calmly.

She gave me the “Are you serious” look. It was the truth, before I bought the ring all I could think about was if I left her who would she find? What if she turned more bitter and cold. Overall what scared me what if she decided to hurt Julie? No, it wasn’t something I would do if Juliana would be in danger.

“Do you love this girl?” She asked me seriously.

“Yes I do.” I spoke out.

“What about Juliana? Are you going to tell her?” She demanded. “That girl loves you Ale, and your over here about to break the poor girls heart!” She cried.

My mother thought I didn’t know that, I knew she was going to suffer. Shit, she would probably hate me forever, but what could I tell her? I wanted to be with her more than anything, but then Arianna pops in my mind and I don’t want to see her alone either.

“Juliana is a strong girl mom, she’ll move on and find someone else.” I cleared my throat.

My mom touched my hand giving it a squeeze. “Ale, no one is forcing you to marry anyone, this is your life and you should be with the girl that you love, not that you think is going to end up alone.” She advised me.

“What would you do?” I looked straight into her eyes.

She sighed. “I would follow my heart, as cliché as it sounds it’s the truth.” She shrugged. She kissed my forehead smiling at me. “Whatever you decided baby I’ll support you.”

After a while of being at home I left the house,, taking a walk down the street. It was Friday afternoon and Juliana would probably me at the campus studying her brains out. She’s started taking afternoon classes and it doesn’t seem to help her much, she’s always tired and grumpy. Like she used to be in high school, with her little stuck up attitudes.

God, I only think about high school and all I can feel is how much I loved her.

I was an idiot, I know. I should’ve thought about this better because now I doubt everything. If I thought telling my mom I was marrying the girl she can’t stand, now telling Juliana that I will never be her terrifies me.
