Something's happen for a reason, other's happen because of faith. I'm not certain why God took Mindy and Arianna away. I still don't understand why Alejandro could not be the one I kept forever. Something's are a mystery to me. Although this truth is right in front of my eyes, I refuse to knowledge it. I can't continue gong back there, to him, to everything. How certain am I if I let go of Jeydon and try to work out something with Alejandro, he will stay? I still can't forget everything we went through. I can't let go.

The stinging of every cut he ever made in my soul is as wide as it was the moment that they were craved. If I could forgive him, if I could forgive myself then maybe I could tell him to stay with me. We could raise Hailey together and hopefully work things out. For once in so long we could be happy with each other. We could finally breathe in peace.

The emptiness deep inside my stomach could be filled once again with him here.

"Julie, Alejandro's is downstairs with Hailey." Jeydon snaps me out of the small haze I was in. I found myself for the hundredth time in the nursing room, making sure I had everything for Hailey's arrival.

I had been released from the hospital a week ago, and Ale gave me another week to get things together here in the house. I could tell it was getting hard for him to let go of Hailey. A part of me was wishing he would ask me to let her keep her. I hadn't sent the papers to my lawyer yet in the hopes he would change his mind. But the day had come to get Hailey and he didn't call before coming over, nor did he seem as if he had a change of heart.

Jeydon leads me down the stairs to the living room. Alejandro was sitting on the couch with Hailey cooed in his arms. He was looking down at her whispering sweet words to her. Why did he believe he could not be a father to her? He has what it takes to be a good father; he loves her more than anything. He closed his eyes for a moment and a few tears managed to escape.

"Alejandro." I finally decide to speak out.

He quickly wipes away his tears with his free hand and quickly stands up. "Sorry I didn't hear you come down here. "

"You're fine. Are you sure you want to do this?" I questioned him again.

He looks down at Hailey and nods. "I need her to be safe and secure. When I was with you I always felt complete and I know she will too. So yes, I am sure I want you to keep her, to love her, to raise her."

"Okay." He walks over to me, carefully handing me Hailey. She was fast asleep, clueless of what was happening. He takes a step back and looks down at her.

"I'm leaving the city today, I don't know when I am coming back, but if you could send pictures to me as she grows up I would really appreciate it."

"Alejandro my door will always be open for you. Hailey is your daughter no matter if you aren't the one raising her. You can come visit her whenever you want." I assured him. I'm not going to take the privilege of seeing his daughter.

"Thank you. I better get going." He turns around aiming to get Hailey's diaper bag but stops when he realizes what he is doing. "Right." He smiles sadly. "Thank you." With that he walks right past us and leaves our home.

You foolish idiot. Do you really believe leaving Hailey with me is going to cure the pain you're feeling? All Alejandro is doing is running away like he has been for all these goddamn years. Doesn't he want to be able to breathe again? Is this the life he really wants for himself.

"I'll put Hailey into her crib." Jeydon says taking her from my arms.

"Thank you." I smile. Before Jeydon makes it fully up the stairs I stop him.
