Belle's POV
"Miss Belle, may you please stay after class? You to Mr. Smith." Mr. Tanner inquired. Corey's head snapped up towards me. Well, I guess he DID remember me after all. I gave him a smirk, then answered with a mocking salute "Yessiree" to Mr. Tanner. The class collectively snickered before getting back to the assignment. During the whole class, I could literally feel Corey's eyes drilling holes into my head, willing me to look at him. As if, that jerk didn't even realize that his ex-best friend was sitting beside him until the teacher said my name.
Corey's POV
The hell? It WAS Belle! I turned and couldn't help but stare at her. My best friend of 9 years, my enemy of 2... Here, in Florida, at the same school as me. Well, isn't that just freaking great. Honestly though, I couldn't help but be excited. Maybe this was God's second chance for me. Maybe I could fix our friendship once and for all. Although I'd never openly admit it to anyone, especially not her, I had always liked her, from the day I met her to this moment. Even when she shot those death glares of hers at me, eyes full of disgust, I thought the best of her. Nothing could compare to her and the bond that we'd shared ages ago. And like a fool, I'd thrown it all away for the dumbest reason ever. With a sigh, I got back to my work, wondering what Tanner wanted from me.
