Chapter 4

Alan's POV

"Sophie...Sophie, move your butt." I laughed, picking her up off the laptop. "You make a lovely door but a terrible window you do." She mewo'ed her response and darted straight for her little play tower, attacking the mouse that hung from it. I couldn't help but laugh as she kept falling over trying to pull it down and eat it. I looked over at my clock, it was nearly midnight, and joys of joys, I had work tomorrow, let out a sigh, figuring I'd better head to bed. I was about to shut the laptop when I noticed I'd received a message on that site. As I clicked on the inbox, I secretly hoped it was a reply from Austin, I didn't know why, but I'd been waiting on his reply like a school girl waiting for her crush to speak to her. I brushed it off though, it wasn't gay to be excited about receiving a reply from someone right? I mean there had been time's I'd been anxious waiting for replies from Jaime and Aaron. And there is was, from Austin.
No way really? Sure you're not just saying that? lol! My dear friend set me up on this thing too haha! I'm currently plotting revenge as we speak...or well type...cos we're not technically speaking, we're typing...and reading..and wow I ramble...sorry. Anyway...eleven years huh? That's awesome, you must be good then? Aye I'm in a band, we're called Of Mice&Men, I'll attach a link to our page at the end of the message for you. My mouth dropped open, I'd heard of them before, I often saw posters for their gigs around town, but sadly every time there was one, I seemed to be working, which sucked. Jaime had seen them about a month ago and told me how amazing they where. So naturally I clicked on the link and started playing a song called Second and Sebring while I browsed through the member's names and pictures. I was right, Austin, for a dude, was pretty hot with his long floppy hair, tattoo's, he pictured well too that was for sure. I guessed the clean vocals I heard where this Shayley dude, as next to his name it said 'clean vocals' but quickly the screaming came. I listen intently, Austin was good, like, really good, it sent shivers down my spine every time he opened his mouth to scream. Not only that, the song was good, the whole band was good, in fact, they where amazing! I clicked on the next song, YDG, I started to wonder what YDG meant but was interrupted as Austin's scream filled my speakers. Three songs later, this band became one of my favorites, as a whole, they where amazingly talented, they could go very far if they kept this level of work up.
It made me a little envious I will admit, I wanted badly to be in a band, just like this. The heavy guitars, the clean and dirty vocals mix, the skilled drums, the smooth bass lines, they had it all right there and I could see it in the future, them headlining major tours, they really had the potential there. I clicked back on the site, while playing Second and Sebring again, I don't know why, but there was something about that song. All their songs poured with feelings, but this one, it made me feel funny...that's about the only way I could put it. It like, pulled on my heart strings, even though I had no idea what the song was about, but it was just one of those songs you know?
Haha yeah I'm plotting revenge too and don't worry, I ramble too some times, it's cute! Omg I just said cute, pleaseee don't take that the wrong way, honest I'm not some creep trying to hit on you, oh god I'm not helping myself here am I? Oh god! Anyway, I've heard of you guys before! Seen your posters around town, my friend Jaime saw you about a month ago and said you guys where amazing. And he was right, I've listened to all your songs you got on there and you guys are awesome, like seriously! You guys can go far that's for sure! You got a killer scream too! When you playing next? I'd love to come see you guys, I love good music and it's been ages since I've been to a decent live gig!
I facepalmed myself...did I seriously just send that? Did I seriously use the word 'cute'...why the hell didn't I delete that part and rewrite it? Oh god he is going to think I'm some creep and now he's gonna think I'm gonna turn into some groupie. Good one Ashby! I thought to myself. I closed my laptop, sighing as I picked Sophie up.
"Come on girly, bed time." I gave her a kiss and headed to my room.
