The Ending

As my solo came on, I went to the front of the stage and did exactly as I rehearsed.

Everyone began to take pictures of me.

Even though Mrs. Karen said no flash photography some parents didn't listen.

It didn't matter.

My eyes kept going over to the empty chair beside Steve's.

I felt bad for what I said to her, and I'm hoping it's not the last thing I'd ever said.

When my performance ended, all of the ballerinas came beside me and we took a bow for the audience.

Small flowers were being thrown at us and the recital couldn't have gone any better.

Plus, I had a lot of fun!

Sodapop was the first to hug me when it was over as he said, "You did an amazing job, Lolly."

In the middle of hugging Two-bit, the front doors swing wide open as Evie runs inside.

"I cannot believe I missed it! Lollipop, I am so sorry. I-"

I ran over and hugged her, "I'm just glad that you're okay. I'm sorry for tattling on you."

"It's alright."

"Lollipop!" I hear someone shout as I start looking around.

Ann Claud comes up to me, "That was amazing!!"

I smiled at her, "Thanks for coming, Ann!"

She pulled out her phone, "I took a lot of pictures look."

In the pictures, showed the persons head that sat in front of her but I could see myself in the corners.

"I love it."

We both smiled at it.

Mrs. Karen and Caroline started to approach me soon after.

Mrs. Karen easily pushed Caroline in front of me and whispered, "Go on."

Caroline sighed, "Lollipop, you...did...great."

She said every word like she didn't mean it which I know she didn't, but it was nice to hear.

She then ran off to her friends behind the curtains.

Mrs. Karen approaches my family, "Thank you all for coming. Lollipop is such an amazing little dancer."

Darry smiled, "We wouldn't have missed it."

Evie explains to me, "The reason I'm late is because I planned a day on the beach for all of us."

Her car was full of beach towels, surfboards, swimsuits, shovel and buckets, and even goggles to see under water.

We took separate cars.

Me, Ann, Pony, Johnny, and Darry in one car.

Soda, Daisy, Steve, and Evie in the other car.

I decided to be barefoot, so I can feel the sand.

It was actually really hot sand.

I looked at my gang and smiled at them all.

They are my family.

This is my life.

I know that I am young now but I feel like everything in my life is perfect.

Everyone looks after me, and I have amazing friends.

I looked over at Ann Claud and her grandmother.

She was building a sandcastle while her grandmother was laying in a beach chair.

Two-bit and Dally were flirting with all of the girls.

Johnny and Ponyboy were swimming together.

Steve, Evie, Daisy, and Sodapop were riding surfboards.

Darry was buying ice cream for Mrs. Penelope.

Yes, this life that I have is perfect.

Everyone in this life is perfect.

And I couldn't have asked for anything better.
