Part 7 - Trust

"This is Taylor!"

Taylor entered another room of the small house and saw all the ninjas gathered there.
All of Lloyd's friends seemed overjoyed to see him.

Last night, Taylor was permitted to sleep in the guest room, and Lloyd had invited him to a shared breakfast. It smelled deliciously of cinnamon and pancakes, with bowls of various fruits and yogurt on the table, as well as a glass of fresh orange juice.

Yesterday night, the ninjas returned home late because it was a huge wedding party, after all. Lloyd also went to the wedding again, since he was also a ninja and one of Nya and Jay's closest friends.

Taylor stepped into the room, feeling a lot of emotions right now. He had thousands of questions and feelings running through his mind at once.

How should he behave? Should he say anything? Should he stay silent?

In front of him sat Kai, the famous Fire Ninja, who looked just as cool as he did on the posters and in magazines. He had wild, brown hair and hazel eyes, with a playful, confident grin on his face.

"Yo Taylor!"

He seemed very chilled and sat next to a table.

"IT'S- IT IS..."

Taylor couldn't believe it. It was like a dream, but no, it was actually reality! Taylor was in a room with real heroes, with the Ninja!

"Yeah Taylor. Please try to breath!" laughed Lloyd. Amused, he crossed his arms in front of his chest.

"IT IS KAI!!!"

Taylor ran to the red ninja and jumped excitedly back and forth, almost like a tiny newborn goat.

"I... I HAVE SO MANY QUESTIONS! DO YOU REALLY HAVE FIRE POWERS?! HOW ARE YOU SO STRONG?! MAN I WISH I COULD BE AS HANDSOME AS YOU! OH I KNOW! CAN YOU TEACH ME HOW TO FIGHT?!"

Kai was very confused by Taylor's questions and could hardly understand what the boy was saying.

"Slow down... Heh. I doubt that you can be as good as me! And please stop jumping..."

Taylor nodded and immediately followed Kai's instructions. The Fire Ninja grinned but Taylor noticed how Kai briefly rolled his eyes, as if annoyed by Taylor's naiveté. Nonetheless, Taylor continued looking around the room and saw Jay and Cole. Jay was lovingly gazing at his wife, with his cheeks reddened and a dreamy expression, while Cole was blissfully absorbed in his phone.

"Right... Look i'm a jaya shipper!" said Taylor thoughtful. "But... What about Cole? What about the conya shippers? Does he has a someone?"

Cole looked up from his phone, annoyed.
Was that a real question?
Why would this boy ask about his love life?

Before Cole could say anything, Lloyd helped Taylor out of the awkward situation.

"Hehe... Uh I see where you are coming from. Shipping huh? Well we don't do that here..."

"But jaya is 100% canon, Lloyd! And I'm sure pixane is too! What about you and Harumi? Or maybe... The ultimate Ship? Cole X Cake?!"

No one could stop Taylor. He was certainly a typical Ninjago fan fiction lover. Yes... This kind of fanboy... (Please, someone help the ninja).

"This isn't a fanfiction..." said Lloyd.

"Isn't it?" asked the young boy and looked confused at the green ninja.
Taylor knew something they didn't.

"Look Taylor, I think you should get ready. I promised to show you around the city. We shouldn't waste any more time!" Lloyd quickly added, before Taylor could come up with any more crazy theories.

Taylor nodded excitedly.

"Yes thank you Sir- ehhh I mean Lloyd!" he said, overjoyed.

After breakfast, Lloyd wanted to leave the room together with Taylor.
He was a shy, nice boy, about his age, and Lloyd felt sorry for him. He had tried so hard at the wedding, only to be laughed at and humiliated. Lloyd was determined to make up for it by spending some quality time with Taylor. They would drink boba tea, eat noodles, and maybe even visit a comic book store together.

Suddenly, Kai grabbed Lloyd's arm from behind.

"Wait..." Kai whispered.

"What's up?" Lloyd asked, confused, as he noticed Kai's intense expression. "You barely know him..." Kai whispered, making sure Taylor couldn't hear him.

Lloyd took a deep breath. If Kai was alluding to the situation with Harumi, then... Lloyd shook his head. "We often hang out with our fans, and I have the feeling that I've met him before... Somewhere."

Kai simply sighed. Lloyd understood his concern for him, but he was no longer a child? Should he stop trusting everyone because of Harumi? The fact that Kai compared Taylor to Harumi bothered Lloyd, but he didn't bring it up. "Contact us if you need anything," Kai said, to which Lloyd nodded. "I will."
