Chapter 35

Alexander's POV:

*7 months later*

"I don't care!" Saige yells. I growl and push her into the wall.

"Well you should!" I yell. She lunges at me and Jacob quickly grabs her.

"You son of a bitch!" She growls. My mother glares at her. "Sorry. But your son is a dick!" I push Jacob out of the way.

"I am your alpha!" I slam her against the wall. "And you will not disrespect me!"

"You are not my alpha!" She pushes me away and Jacob grabs her waist. "You're my dead sisters mate!"

"DO NOT bring Valerie into this!" She winces at my harsh tone but quickly cover it up. "It is NOT my fault!"

"Yes it is Alexander! You kept him alive!" I shake my head and turn towards the map. "You should've killed him!"

"I couldn't." I snap. She scoffs and I close my eyes.

"Yeah and why not?"

Why not? Well I don't know. Valerie didn't want me to... But I could've. I could've ended his life, making it better for all of us. She would still be alive right now if I would've slit his throat.

"Can we just focus on the task at hand?!" Thomas yells. We look at him.  "It doesn't matter who's fault it is! It matters that we are in the middle of a war!"

"Thomas is right. We shouldn't argue." Jason says. "Valerie wouldn't have wanted it."

"Fine. We know why they're here. We know when they're coming. But WHY exactly are they coming?" I retrace our steps.

"Maybe you should ask them." Blake says. I look up at him. "They've past the sounthern borders."

My eyes widen. "David!" He runs in and looks at me. "Gather all the warriors. Make sure you have the eastern border patrol round up the pack. Then meet me at the Northern borders." He nods and runs out. I look at Saige and Samantha. "You guys need to go with the pack."

"Absolutely not. You're crazy." Saige says. I growl and glare at her.

"Saige we don't have time for this!" I yell. She crosses her arms and Jacob whispers in her ear. She shakes her head.

"I'm going to call my father. Have him bring warriors. But I stay. I'm the Alpha's best warrior. Therefore you need me." She retorts. I sigh and shrug.

"Fine. But if you die..." My eyes turn pitch black. "I'll tell daddy dearest you said goodbye." I quickly run out of the office and dash out the front door, shifting into my wolf mid air.

'We're here Alpha.' David links. I run faster and dodge trees.

'And the pack?'

'Locked up in the safe rooms.' I finally see him and I bark. His silver wolf looks at me and nods courtly. Grey eyes stare back at me with grief but I shake my head at him.

"My my my." I hear. I look to see a girl about my age. "Why are you all in wolf form? I just want to talk to your Alpha." I quickly shift and grab a pair of shorts from a nearby tree. I put them on and cross my arms as I study her figure.

She has brown hair and grey eyes. Light freckles that cover her entire face. She's tall, 5'7 maybe. She has an accent. Australian I believe.

"Okay I'm here. Now talk." I announce. She eyes me up and down.

"Hm." She bites her lip and walks closer. "Cass lost a good one." My breath hitches and she stops in front of me. "How is she? Cassie?"

"Valerie's gone." I snap. She chuckles and circles me slowly, crossing her arms.

"Valerie?" She asks. "Her little pet name I'm guessing. But yeah I've uh..." She stand in front of me. "I've heard about her little one way ticket to hell. It's too bad. I was hoping to kill her myself."

"Are you really here to talk about my dead mate?" I growl. She smiles and shakes her head.

"No. We're actually here to talk about mine." I tilt my head. "You may have heard of him. No scratch that. You definitely knew him."

"Oh did I?" I ask. "Maybe a name will help... Jog my memory?"

"Think Alexander. Think Cassandra." She growls. "After all she's the one who killed him."

I freeze and my eyes widen. I quickly shake it off and feel everyone staring at us.

"Jaiden."
