Alexander POV :

Did I just hear her correctly? Jaiden? As in her abusive ex? No of course not. I look at her with confusion.

"Excuse me?" I ask. She sighs and runs her hand through her hair.

"I said..." She clears her throat. "I said..."

"I know what you said." I say. I walk over to her and push her against the door. "But I don't think you meant to say that."

"Alexander it's not anything to be upset about!" She yells. I glare at her. "Come with me! Then maybe you'll stop being such a-"

"Fine!" I yell. I grab her hand and we walk downstairs. We walk to the cells in the basement. She shudders and sniffs the air.

"It smells like moldy cheese and wolf bane." She gags. I roll my eyes and drag her down the rusty old hall, looking for him.

"Visitors!" I hear. I follow the sound and see him chained up. I growl and we step inside. "Welcome to my humble estate. Please. Make yourself at home."

"Jaidem this isn't time for games." Valerie snaps. He smiles and shrugs.

"Come on Cass you know me. I can make people laugh in no time." He jokes. Valerie scowls and he smirks. "Seems like I've lost my touch."

"Jaiden enough! What are you doing here?!" She yells.

"No need to shout darling. I'm right here." He mumbles. "Besides I wanted to see you."

"Hell no." She crosses her arms. "That's bullshit and you know it."

"It's true." He says. His eyes roams her body and I ball my fists up. "Nice mark."

"Jaiden you know damn well why I'm here." She says. He shakes his head. "Stop lying and tell me the truth!"

"Okay. Jeez chill out. No need to get angry." He says. She groans and grips her hair, closing her eyes.

"I'm not fucking angry!" She yells. She opens her eyes and furrows her eyebrows. "I'm not angry." She lets go of her hair and looks at me. "I'm not..." I shift uncomfortably and she frowns. "Honey."

"Yes?" She points to the cell door and I nod. "Mhm." We walk into the hallway and she looks at me.

"I'm not angry. Am I?" She asks. I open my mouth but no words come out. She glares at me.

"Well you see..."

"Am I?" She repeats more sternly. I scratch the back of my neck.

"No?" I say in more of a question. She sighs. "I'm sorry. I can't help it."

"Baby you have no reason to be upset." She reassures me. I sigh.

"I know... But what if you choose him over me?" I whisper, looking down. She lifts my chin and her eyes are filled with an emotion I can't figure out.

"Does this mark on my neck show I would choose that maniac over you?" She asks. I smile and she gives me a peck. "Relax. I'm all yours."

All mine... I nod and we make our way back inside. I stand in the corner and she looks at Jaiden.

"Now. Let's try this again shall we?" She looks him up and down with disgust. "You look terrible." He hums and the chains jingle as he adjusts his wrist. "What are you doing here?"

"Nope. That's not the question you really wanna ask." He says. "Go ahead Cassie. Ask me the million dollar question."

I look between them with curiosity. Jeez the tension is so thick you could cut it with a chainsaw. She glares at him before he sighs on defeat.

"This is not the time for games Jaiden." She tells him. He looks at her and searches her eyes for something. That's when I notice something off.

Number 1, being that my wolf has gone MIA. Ever since the day Valerie got drunk. 2, Jaiden is here. Right now. After months or years of silence. He shows up after the fact that Filia was discovered. Filia... Jaiden... My wolf... The sudden quiet from my beta. It's peaceful in the pack. Too peaceful.
