"What are we?"

Jungkook hummed, laying down on his side as he wrapped delicate arms around the other's petite waist. He's always thought and dreamt about Taehyung asking him this question one day, though, he never thought it would ever happen, but now it was, and it was like he wasn't living in reality at all.

Hearing Taehyung speak those words to him, hearing him as that question was something that he's always dreamt off, and he felt so content and excited he was finally able to hear those words come out of that beautiful mouth of the younger's.

However, with him thinking he was living in reality, and being convinced Taehyung would never dare to ask that simple, but yet complicated, question, he never daydreamed about it any further.

He had no idea what to say, he had no idea how to express the feelings he had towards the younger. He was always horrible at this, and he was afraid he would lose him permanently this time. The thought terrified him, to the point he barely slept the whole week Taehyung was in the hospital.

He was constantly wondering if he was doing okay, if he was sleeping good, eating enough, recovering well, wondering when he'll be able to leave the hospital so he could see and be with him again-but every time he thought that way, Jimin's words struck him and echoed through his head.

The words haunted him-as dramatic as it may sound-it truly haunted him, because he was convinced Taehyung hated him and never wanted to see them raven-haired boy again. The thought tore him apart and he hated thinking about it, and he hated how Jimin's words were so true.

Jungkook believed he would be the last person Taehyung would want to see, especially when he woke up. He believed Taehyung would want nothing to do with him, and he honestly couldn't blame him.

He couldn't blame him if Taehyung hated him and didn't want anything else to do with him. He ignored him because he was terrified of the rumors going around school were to be true. He was terrified because he allowed his insecurities to get the best of him, and he treated Taehyung like shit.

He deserved the way Taehyung treated him afterwards. He deserved it, and he knew that, and he knew he couldn't say anything, because he was the one who did it first. He knew the consequences behind his actions, he knew what would've happened if he did it, but yet, he did it anyway.

He had no excuses.

So, hearing the words slip from Taehyung's pink, full lips was like a dream come true to Jungkook. But yet, he didn't know what to say. He didn't know how to confess all of his feelings and thoughts to the younger without scaring him or making him feel uncomfortable.

But he had to try somehow, right?

"Um, first off, can I tell you how sorry I am?" The raven-haired boy asked with a small voice-a voice that sounded broken and like he was pleading for the younger to forgive him. The younger nodded slowly, looking up at him through his thick lashes as the older sucked in a deep breath to settle his overwhelming nerves.

The brunette boy noticed the way his hands were trembling around his waist. He gently reached behind him and grabbed his hands, giving them a light squeeze before kissing his knuckles. He flashed him a sweet smile-a reassuring smile that he hoped would work.

"I'm so sorry, for literally everything that I've ever done to you. I'm sorry, Tae," he whispered, his eyes glossing over as he tried blinking the tears away, "I know that apologies don't really mean anything unless proven otherwise, and I tend to make it up to you, no matter how long it'll take, but I'm sorry."

"Kookie, I already told you everything's okay-that we're okay," Taehyung tried reasoning with him, but the older stubbornly shook his head as he sniffed, the tears slowly falling from his eyes and trickling down his pink tinted cheeks.
