Think of me,

think of me fondly

when we've said goodbye-

Think of me,

yes, please think of me.

I hope you remember all of the good things,

I hope you never forget them.

If I'm lucky,

then you never will,

they'll stay burned in your mind forever.

I'm not easy to get rid of.

If I'm lucky,

then you'll never get me out of your head.

I will be there

always.

I can already see you trying so hard to put me out of your mind

but it won't work,

no matter how hard you try.

I'm an infestation,

I'm a disease,

I'm a raging fire,

I'm a flood-

I will not be stopped.

I hope the memories stay,

I really hope they do.

I hope you never forget me,

though I have already forgotten you.

-but please promise me

that sometimes

you will think of me.
