I pull of my headphones and chuck them down on my duvet, pressing pause on my video, one of Tanya Burr's vlogs.
"Lucy?" Ms. Abbot asks, peeking round my bedroom door, "Go have a shower, get dressed. Make an effort, ok?" She mutters.
"What's it even matter anymore?"
I shower, pick my clothes, tie my hair into a braid then quickly do my usual, natural-look make up. Cuz you know, who needs tons of makeup when you're as naturally beautiful as I am? Ha! I wish! Usually I am just to lazy to spend ages on my makeup, plus makeup costs a bomb! Nah, I prefer fashion to beauty when it comes to myself. I wish I was like Zoe or Tanya or something and be amazing at stuff like that but... Oh well.
I throw myself back on my duvet, laying face down on my bed quietly, listen to the sound of silence, oh how I love being off school.
I pick up my phone, end up scrolling through my photos. A selfie with Sienna catches my eye, when I feel myself begin to choke up I take a deep breath and scroll on. God I miss her, she's only been gone a few days!
I open up YouTube, hitting play on a song, scrolling through my recommended videos and finding an abundance of Hunger Games videos. What would it be like had I still been back at my old school? Would Skye and I have bought tickets to see that movie later this week? When it comes out? I don't mind The Hunger games but Skye LOVED The Hunger Games! Like obsessed, like have her social media names to hunger games related words, countdown the minutes kinda obsessed. I quickly text her, Excited for Mockingjay?
Five minutes pass, no reply. Hmmm maybe she has her phone turned off or something?
Twenty minutes pass...
Fourth minutes pass... No reply.
"LUCY!" Ms. Abbot shouts, "COME DOWNSTAIRS! THERE'S SOMEONE HERE TO SEE YOU!"
I run halfway down the carpeted staircase, poking my head through the banisters to see who it is.
I don't know who I was expecting...
Definitely not her.
I recognise her instantly.
That huge, red smile. Those milky-blue eyes. That long brown, ombréd blonde hair.
