The base was bustling with the sounds of activity. A team of four humans had arrived by the title of 'geographic locators' and had flown in from Germany. Fowler assured the team that within four hours, the echo of the recording would be met. Most Autobots had flocked around them, listening in and adding the occasional remark. However, Optimus had to move them away after a while, as the Germans had only just met these 'robots', therefore leaving them no less than confused, perhaps even frightened.

They moved to the training room, where they readied themselves for the oncoming battle. Even the Decepticons joined them, only getting involved once they were challenged by their past foes. At one point, Bumblebee had made the bet that he could easily overtake Knockout in an arm wrestle, which ended up with the two of them wrestling on the floor. The others watched around the edges of the hanger, some cautious of the opposite side and some placing bets.

But I remained in the main hanger, completely invested upon the four humans in front of me. Optimus had allowed me to stay, as I needed to rest my wings either way. The humans didn't seem to mind, as I stayed silent and listened to them work. They first worked with different types of echo's, as well as famous cave echoes around the world. I suddenly felt the presence of someone beside me but chose to ignore it. I sat on the overhanging walkway, my paws hanging over the edge whilst I gazed down at their work. The walkway ended next to me and I assumed that it was only Optimus having the same worry and hope like me.

"I didn't expect you to care so much about Predaking." I didn't turn my head but continued to look down as Megatron started to taunt. "If anything I would have expected you to move on and let my scientists create a new Predacon." I could feel his smirk without turning my head as my tail twitched in agitation.

"He's my Father," I said simply. Speaking was much easier now, as we had harvested Darksteel's Voicebox. Despite my disgust, I let Ratchet and Raf place it in my neck, before long allowing me to speak freely. Even if my voice was a little bit deeper, it still sounded like me. "You can't replace that."

"What about you?" I asked. "Still going to carry on fighting after Unicron?" He tsked before turning away, allowing me to look at him without feeling his gaze. "What does it matter? What's to say we pass away during our 'valiant battle' with the devil?" I could tell he didn't want to talk about it but I sure as hell did. "Even if I ended the war, I would still be a war criminal. I wouldn't be forgiven." He actually sounded sad. Megatron had actually opened up to me as he spoke quietly. He thought that he had to continue fighting to save his life.

"Who said you wouldn't be forgiven?" He turned to me now and our eyes met. I struggled to continue looking. I remind you that this was the con that put a hole in my side not too long ago. "Optimus would forgive. As would I." His eyebrows went up slightly when I finished, still holding my gaze.

"Why?" He said. For a moment he looked around the room to see who else was here. The four humans, as well as Ratchet. But Ratchet might as well have not been in the room, as he stood at the console, tapping away like a madman at per the instruction of the Germans.

"I've spent my whole life in war. Known nothing more. If I have the chance to stop, then I'd take it." I looked away at that and heard him hum in acknowledgement. Then he turned around and left, walking down the hallway to his birth room. I heard the door click shut as he walked in and then untensed my shoulders. I sighed in relief to know he was no longer next to me but still allowed my sympathy for him to show. Let's hope that he was forgiven by everyone else too.

-2 hours later-

The room was loud again as the German's yelled in triumph, waking Scales from her sleep. She jumped up and swung her head around the room, before looking down again. Two of them were shaking hands with Fowler, briefly trying to translate what they had to say. Once they had, Fowler looked as happy as them, quickly shaking their hand and then turning to Optimus. Out of the corner of my eye, Scales saw them scurry out of the hanger and jump in a jeep and wipe the sweat off of their foreheads before they disappeared out of sight. Scales chuckled ever so slightly.
