Trinity limped along through the hallway, holding the wall for support.  Her ankle hurt like hell and she kept her Glock level. She heard something click into place behind her and she stopped.   Turning around, she saw a silver plate separating her from the rest of the hallway.  This wall was covered in spikes.

She instantly began running.  She gritted her teeth as the pain rocketed up her leg, eventually numbing it as the spike covered wall chased her down the hall.  Plates of metal dropped down over turns, keeping her trapped inside the one hallway.  The hallway was about to dead end, looking right, there was a hallway, not yet covered.  The plate was just beginning to fall.  She bailed right and rolled underneath it as it slammed closed.  Standing up on the end of her roll, she instantly collapsed.  Her ankle was completely numb.  Kneeling, she supported herself on the wall and dragged her leg behind her.  Turning left, she saw Gabe laying on his side.  Hobbling over to him she dropped to her knees.

“Gabe,” she grabbed his shoulders and gently shook them. “Gabe.  Gabe wake up.”

His eyes snapped open and his hand closed around her throat. “You fucking bitch!”

“Gabe, I can’t,” Trinity wheezed and tried to dig her fingers under his hand.  He rolled her over and pinned her underneath him.

“You have balls coming back here.”

“What?” she wheezed and clutched his wrist.  Her face was red and slowly turning purple. “Gabe, let go.”

“Why, you tried to kill me!” he snarled.

“What?” she gasped before she couldn’t breathe.  She tried to push him away and he tightened his grip.  Her breaths stopped at his hand and she got nothing.  Her eyes were wide open and her face was purple.  She clutched his wrist and tried to push him away.

Gabe felt her nails drag down his neck.

“Wow, I must say, I have never seen a pair of partners at each other’s throats more than you two.  Are you really going to kill her Mr. Richards?” the man asked.  Gabe looked down at Trinity who was frantically trying to rip her neck out of his grip.  No amount of struggling would save her.

Gabe shook his head and released her neck.  She gasped for air and was thrown into a coughing fit.  She held her throat and coughed hard.  Her face slowly returned to normal cover and her coughs came with less intensity.  Gabe looked down at his hands and touched the side of his throat.  His gloves came away bloody again.

            “Trinity?”

“I didn’t try to kill you.” Trinity coughed and lowered her hand from her neck.  Her throat was badly bruised in the shape of his hand.  She sat back and gasped for air. “I was trying find you and when I did you tried to kill me.”

Gabe reached out for her and she pushed away, shaking her head. “Don’t touch me.”

“Trinity,” Gabe begged. “Please, I, I’m sorry.”

“No you’re not.  If you were sorry, you would have let go as soon as you realized I had no clue what you were talking about.” She snapped. “Don’t tell me you are sorry.”
