Gabe pulled Trinity to her feet and she shoved him away.  She grabbed the collar tried to wrap her fingers underneath it.

“Trinity, Trinity, stop it!” Gabe shouted.

“Get it off!” she screamed and continued to try to dig her fingers underneath it.  Gabe grabbed her wrists and pulled her hands away from her neck.  He shoved her wrists against the wall.

“If I try taking it off, he will kill you.  Do you understand?  He will kill you if I take it off.” Gabe explained sternly.  Tears were covered Trinity’s checks in a thin sheen and made them glisten in the harsh white light of the hallway. “Now, we have to get going.”

“Okay,” she nodded and he released her wrists.  He checked his weapons before they set off down the hall. “You know how to get out of here?”

“This area is an exact replica of the prison I was a guard at and you were a prisoner at, so, I know how to get out of here, but after this area, I have no clue.”

“So we have forty eight hours to wander and hope we get it right?” she asked confused while looking at Gabe out of the corner of her eye.

“Pretty much, now follow me.” Gabe said.  Trinity walked behind him a little and she fell silent.  As they walked, Trinity saw the same ghostly figure from before standing at the intersection, leaning against the wall with his large muscular arms crossed over his chest.  She slowed as they approached the man.  Gabe went left as the man pushed away from the wall and motioning for her to follow.  He offered a gentle smile and a tilt of the head as a motion for her to follow.

She followed him.  He would look back every so often to make sure she was still there.  He walked up to a black sheet at the end of the hallway and she walked up beside him.  He ran his fingers over her cheek and smiled before vanishing.

Gabe looked back and saw Trinity wasn’t there.  He spun in place and pulled his gun out of its holster.  Raising it and back tracking, he saw her standing at a black section of the wall.  He put the gun away before sprinting over to her.

“Trinity!  What the hell!” he snarled walking up to her and grabbed her arm.  He spun her around and shoved her against the black glass.  The glass spiderwebbing out from Trinity’s back.

“I’m sorry, I wondered what this was.” Trinity lied carefully.  He didn’t believe her the first time she had mentioned the people she could see, why would he believe her now?

“So you wander off knowing damn well that we have forty eight hours to get out of this hell hole and this is doing nothing more than wasting precious time?” Gabe snarled furiously.  He slammed her against the glass again and it shattered, raining down in the hallway.  Releasing her, Gabe stood at the edge of the window sill.  Looking out over the space, Trinity gasped and Gabe just nodded in agreement.

Stretching out in front of them for several miles was a complex labyrinth of hallways and rooms leading in all directions.  Gabe sat down on the edge of the sill and Trinity cried out dropping to her knees.  She seized, as the lights on the collar pulsing red.

“Don’t think about it Mr. Richards, not if you want Ms. Vega to survive.”
