As we drove down the highway Ben cranked up the local country station and we sang at the top of our lung, like friends since childhood, until we pulled up outside the mall.
"You ready for chaos?" I asked Ben.
"Absolutely!" he enthusiastically replied as ran around the car and opened my door, before I even realized what he was doing.
"Our adventure awaits, my lady." said Ben, after opening my door and extending an arm.
"Thank you kind sir." I said in the most royally accented voice I could muster, taking his arm and stepping out of the car. And we skipped all the way up to the entrance of the mall and to our first stop. We received many sideways glances and disapproving stares, but we truly didn't notice. We were caught up in the moment, when everything seemed perfect.
