(Mariam’s POV)

Soft lips pressed against mine and I would’ve panicked since I was still partially asleep. But the lips were far too familiar for me to be startled by them.

At first, he teased me and simply pecked me, making sure his lips never lingered for too long before they were gone from mine. I murmured in annoyance and heard a chuckle before he kissed me again, this time firmer.

I sighed when I felt the tip of his tongue trace the seam of my lips. Just when I opened for him, he pulled back again.

This time, I snapped and reached my hands out. I immediately position my arms around his neck and pulled him down before roughly pressing his lips against mine. I could feel his smile and couldn’t help but smile back as I snuggled my body against his.

Constantine rolled on top of me and straddled my hips as his fingers tangled into my hair. His tongue dipped between my lips and touched the roof of my mouth. I gasped as he continued to kiss me breathless while we continued to lay in what I assumed was my bed in my dorm.

After a few more minutes, I finally opened my eyes and saw that we really were in my bedroom. I stared up at Constantine, who was flushed and breathing just as hard as I was. His lips were wet and red from our kiss and I couldn’t help but reach up and run my thumb across them.

He was in front of me. Constantine was with me and he had just been kissing me. This was real.

I ran my hand through his hair and whispered, “Good morning.”

“I love you.”

His word took me aback and I gawked up at him. Constantine chuckled at my expression before pressing a kiss to my forehead.

“I love you.” he repeated. “I should’ve known you would turn my life upside down from the moment I saw you in that alleyway.”

“Thanks for reminding me how we first met.” I said in a flat voice. “You were a cocky jackass.”

“And you were a spicy little thing. Not much has changed.” He easily caught my fist in his hand before kissing the back of it. “I heard from your father. You broke the curse?”

“Not really.” I said, my body relaxing. “If we stay together, it will though. Unless of course, your eyes start to stray and you start looking at other girls but me.”

“That would never happen. How could I get tired of you and your little temper tantrums?”

“If you keep spouting stupid stuff like that, I’ll be the one to stray.”

Constantine’s eyes became cold. “Don’t say that.” He murmured. “Don’t leave me.”

I sighed and rolled us over so that I laid on top of him, my head on his chest.

“I was lying. I don’t want to be away from you ever again. It was pure torture.”

He wrapped his arms around my back and held me. The two of us stayed that way for a few more moments before he said in a quiet voice, “We need to do something about Jayden.”

I knew he was going to mention that. “We will.”

It’s nearly been a week and everyone was going to be back tomorrow. That would be the time to let Jayden know. I couldn’t do such a thing through a letter or through a phone call. It had to be face-to-face. It would be an insult to him otherwise.

“Should I be there with you?” he asked.

I shook my head. “I’ll do it by myself. It would be cowardly of me and even more humiliating for him if you were there when I broke the news.”
