The next morning Jasper left before I was awake. I couldn't be to mad as Dad had to come and wake me up. I got dressed in a pair of maroon skinny jeans, a white t-shirt, and a navy blue sweater. Once I was downstairs I threw on my black converse and grabbed my backpack. Dad made us toast and I grabbed a slice on my way to Bella's truck.
Today was the big Bio field trip. Once we got to school I said bye to Bella and headed over to see Jasper. Even though I knew he could hear me coming I still jumped on his back. He let out a soft chuckle and wrapped his arms around my legs holding me up. I looked around the parking lot and saw Bella and Mike talking. I turned my gaze over to Edward and he did not look happy. I nudged Jasper to let me down and he did only to grab my hand in his, keeping me close. The teacher took our permission slips and corralled us in two different busses. The Cullens and I were on one bus and Bella on the other.
"Eggshells, carrot tops, compost is cool," Mr. Malina said animatedly. He had Eric smoosh something to make 'compost tea'. Of course, Eric and his idiot friends tried to drink it. Mr. Malina yelled for them to stop before the foul liquid could touch their lips. Jasper and I walked through very quickly. Ryan and Alice were following behind us and Edward was behind Bella, stalking her.
The four of us exited the greenhouse and walked over to our bus, Edward and Bella not far behind. I couldn't exactly hear what they were saying but judging by everyone's expressions Edward told Bella to go to Hell. But I knew Bella, she wasn't going to stop trying to figure Edward out.
"Hi," Alice said interrupting Edward and Bella, "Are you going to be riding with us?"
"No. Our bus is full," Edward answered for Bella. I gave Bella a small smile but she threw another glare my way and stormed off. Jasper led me to the back of the bus and I cuddled into his side hoping for the day to be over quickly.
We got back to school just as the final bell was ringing. Jasper offered to drive me home and I took him up on. When we got home I dragged him to my room and shut the door. He gave me a devilish smirk and I pulled out our history assignment. I swear I heard him grunt a little. We sat on my bed and tried to work. By we I mean me. Jasper was doing everything he could think of to distract me. I finally gave up and gave him my attention.
The next day at Lunch Edward finally stopped being an ass. Alice and Rose went with me through the lunch line while the boys waited at our table. When we got to the table, Ryan pulled Alice into his embrace as soon as she sat down. Emmett put his arm around Rose's chair protectively while Jasper wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me flush with him. Edward sat picking at the food he will never eat then he abruptly got up. We all watched as he walked over to Bella at the salad bar to talk to her. Rose was not very happy with Edward. Jasper told me that Bella invited Edward to La Push this weekend before asking if I was going. I told him I wasn't invited. Rose suggested that we do something instead. Alice instantly agreed and knowing her she had something up her sleeve. Later that night, after school, Jasper climbed through my window and we cuddled and talked until I fell asleep.
The weekend came faster than expected and Alice dragged Rose and I shopping. Alice had to go to three different dress shops before she finally found the right one. It was a cobalt blue dress. She also had to go to two different shoe shops before thrusting a pair of black heels in my hands and shoving me to the bench to try them on. Once she decided that they were the pair she quickly paid for them.
A few hours later we were back at the Cullen house and the two of them were giving me a makeover. Alice insisted that I wear the new dress and shoes. Alice dragged me in front of her vanity before coating my face with makeup while Rose worked on my hair.
They finally released me and I walked downstairs to see rose petals flowing out the back door. Once I got deeper into the forest candles appeared on the forest floor. I continued walking until I saw Jasper.
"What are you doing?" I asked as he took my hands in my own.
"Taking you on a date," he whispered in my ear leading me to a romantic dinner for two.
Like the true southern gentleman he is, he pulled out my chair before placing a small kiss on my cheek. He lifted a silver cloche and in front of me sat a warm plate of spaghetti and garlic bread. I ate my meal and we had a wonderful conversation about anything and everything. As the sky grew darker and colder and the twinkling stars came out to join us Jasper brought me back home. I borrowed Jasper's room to change out of my fancy gown and I took off the tortuous heels. I also borrowed some of Rose's makeup remover and took all the gunk off of my face.
Once I emerged in my everyday clothes Jasper drove me home. Before I left his car I gave him a kiss on the cheek before going inside. I hurried up to my room before Dad could grill me like I was a suspect. I changed into my pj's and before I fell asleep I felt Jasper wrap his arms around my midsection. I closed my eyes and drifted off.
