Chapter 16:
Charlie: Could it be because our grandma just told us that she was dying from colon cancer?
Doctor: I don't think that's what cause his blood sugar to go high hun, btw is your grandma Mrs. Jonas?
Nick: yeah how did you know?
Doctor: um...
Charlie: well

The doctor sigh and finally said.

Doctor: I'm sorry but your grandmother just recently passed away

Tears poured my face. I started to cry into Sam chest as he rub my back. I heard Nick voice cracked when he said.

Nick: w-when?

He choke out, I could tell that he has been crying as well.

Doctor: at around 6pm I'm so sorry
Nick: what time is it now?
Doctor: 7pm, your grandfather still here, he's been signing papers work. He was gonna call you guys, but he's been depressed since he heard
Nick: where is he?
Doctor: I think he's in the cafeteria right now. He refused to sign any papers
Nick: o-okay, I'll go have a talk with him. I'll be right back

I nodded not daring to look him in the eye because I was still mad at him. Even tho I was upset about the news of my grandmother passing.

Nick's POV
When I walk out the room, I could tell Charlie was upset with me because she didn't even look at me or say a word to me when I left.

I don't blame her, she had every rights to be angry at me right now since I lost my cool with her. I've been such an awful brother to her lately and I regret giving her the belt after I promise I would give her the belt when she turned 13 or did something so fucked up. I keep telling myself that it wasn't my fault, it was my stupid blood sugar, but I have to learn to control it or else I may lose my baby sister forever.

When I finally made it to the cafeteria I look around and spotted my grandfather he didn't look to hot. I better go talk to him. I went over to him and sat across from him, he notice me and said.

Grandpa: Nick, what are you doing here and where's Charlotte?

Grandpa doesn't call Charlie, Charlie he use her actual full name which is Charlotte. What should I tell him? Will he be angry with me for putting my sister in their even though it was my blood sugar level. Will he have to spank me with my father strap. I shivered at the thought of that and grandpa notice and said.

Grandpa: are you okay Nicholas?
Nick: (nervous) um... yeah I'm fine. (sighs) but the reason why Charlie not here is because she's in the hospital

I look down at my ring and waited for his reaction.

Grandpa: Nicholas Jerry Jonas! What on earth were you thinking!
Nick: I know but it wasn't my fault it was my blood sugar level and the doctor said that her blood sugar was low. Charlie and I haven't checked since she discovered she had diabetes. I'm such an idiot for not making sure she checks her insulin everyday
Grandpa: *sighs* is there anything else? Is there a reason why you had to punish her in anger?
Nick: well she thought it would be funny to mess up my things in my room, she been getting into a lot of trouble lately grandpa. I don't think I could handle this anymore
Grandpa: Nick don't say that. You're an amazing brother, you just gave the keep your cool. Now that your grandmother is not around, I think it's best if you and Charlie mover in with me
Nick: but Grandpa-
Grandpa: no buts Nick
Nick: Charlie and I can't move, with me working at her school she doesn't want to leave her friends behind. I also don't think it would work out because you live an hour away from us and it's gonna take Charlie and I a long time to get to the school
Grandpa: how else do you want me to do it, so this situation doesn't happened again? Charlie been to the hospital numerous times in your care, and it looks really bad on your record Nick, since your parents place you as legal guardian
