Bound Twenty-Five

"Go on a date with me." He said.

 What? Is he serious? Ugh. He's crazy.

I immediately turned to him, scowling.

"Are you crazy?!"

"Nope. I'm just helping you, Sab." He said while smiling.

Oh, that smile. I haven't seen that in years.

I shook my head, lightly in disbelief. What am I thinking? Focus, Sabrina.

"How is that going to help?" I don't like where this is going.

"In any way it can. I just want you to forget everything that happened, back then. I want you to smile again and be happy." I hate this. This.. This feeling.. My heart is beating like a drum and I can't seem to breathe.

Damn it, Andrew. Why are you doing this to me?

"I don't know. I can't risk getting hurt again, Andrew. I don't think this is a good idea." Why am I over thinking this? I should say, no. Right? I should... Right..?

"Sab, I know how hard this is for you.. But I just want to help. I'm still your friend and I'm really sorry." He's face is serious. I just can't find the sincerity in his voice. Maybe it's because of all the pain... I just don't see him as the same Andrew, that I met five years ago.

"I.. I'll think about it." His eyes met mine.

It's been so long... But I never moved on. I immediately let go of his gaze.

I just can't... Not yet..

"Great." He walked towards me but I immediately stepped back.

I saw how his expression changed.

"You do know that you don't have to do this right? It's not your responsibility.. And I'm not an important person. And for you to waste your time with someone, like me.. Well, that's just inconvenient." I saw his brow creased.

"I'm not wasting my time. Believe me. This will help." He pasued. "Think about it. Right now, I have to go. I'll see you, soon" I nodded in response.

He got into his car and drove off, leaving me here.. Confused.

How am I going to cope up with all these?

Hindi ba dapat iniiwasan mo siya, Sabrina? Bakit parang mas gusto mo pa atang mapalapit ulit, sakanya?

Hindi ko na alam ang gagawin ko. Gulong-gulo na naman ang isip ko.
