RECAP:

"...Here is a recent picture of Trevor, a week before he proposed to his fiance, Gabrielle Lawson."

I spat out the water I was about to gulp down and gasped at the picture on the TV screen. I've seen this story weeks ago, but I didn't watch it long enough to see the picture! It was a picture of Marcus! He had light stumble on his jaw, his caramel brown hair was cut quite short and he was in a businesses suit. He smiled breathtakingly at the camera, his pearly whites on show. I was shocked. My eyes widened and my heart rammed against my chest. Oh my-

Just then, Marcus rushed into the living room and I turned my head to look at him, shock still evident on my features, my mouth wide open. His grey shirt was damp with sweat and he was breathing heavily. His eyes widened in panic as they darted from me to the TV screen, then back again.

"Victoria..."He breathed. His eyes held caution and dread.

My mind my was all over the place. How could I have been oblivious to a news story like that? To the fact that the man I had been living with for two months, had a family who were earnestly searching for him, broadcasting his disappearance on the news. I'm so stupid! I gave in, I let myself get too attached. I've fallen in love with a man called Marcus. Is Trevor Braxton that same man, or is he different?

I didn't realise I was hyperventilating until Marcus was shaking my shoulders, calling my name in concern. I snapped out of my mental breakdown and peered in Marcus' worried, evergreen eyes. He stopped shaking me and breathed a sigh of relief. We were sitting on the sofa turned towards each other and his hands were still resting on my shoulders. "Victoria...I know this is-"

Anger, frustration and sadness washed through me. "Marcus." I interrupted, my voice shaky. "Or should I say; Trevor. That's your real name...Trevor Braxton." The name felt so foreign on my tongue. His hold on my shoulder tightened, and I could see pain in his eyes. Why? I had no clue.

"I know-" He started.

"No you don't know. You don't know what this means! We shouldn't have become more than friends. We shouldn't have been anything more than associates. It would've been easier when we've reached this point. When we found out who you were, when we found out your identity. Now, you'll just leave me and resume the life you had forgotten. I knew in the back of my mind that I was setting myself up to get hurt. I knew what we had couldn't last, but I was selfish and wanted to savour everyday I had loving you." My lip was trembling and a lone tear slid down my face.

Marc-Trevor moved closer and tried to wipe that tear away, but I slapped his hand away and put some distanced between us. I don't even know what name to address him by—but he will always be Marcus to me. Hurt and sadness flashed in his eyes. "Your engaged." I continued, "your wedding is in two weeks from now. For heavens sake! I-"

Marcus closed the gap that I had put between us, and cover my mouth with his hand. "Victoria, just listen OK? the reason why I was acting differently yesterday was because I was getting flashbacks of my past. I didn't know what to make of them. I didn't know what they would mean for us. Well, that was until I had a third flashback a few minutes ago and..my memory came back. I remember everything now." My eyes widened and he flinched at the fury that brimmed within them, immediately removing his hand from my mouth.

I shook my head in disbelief. "I can't believe you were getting flashbacks and you didn't say ANYTHING about it. I was so concerned for you. I was worried that you were having second thoughts about last night, but now none of that matters, huh?!" I laughed emptily, without a hint humour. "None of that matters because you obviously remember about your fiance and your upcoming wedding. Now you'll just toss me aside like a piece of fluff." I spat.
