RECAP:

"Well, isn't it worth the risk?" He asked, with mischief dancing in his eyes.

Yes.He is. He is worth it. "Yes, Marcus. You are worth it." A smile creeping onto my face. A beaming smile spread across his face, like a child on Christmas morning. He leaned in to plant a slow and sensual kiss on my lips. As he pulled away I whimpered in protest. He gave me one last peck then picked up my mug of coffee from the coffee table, and took a sip.

"Mmmhh. That is good." He sighed.

I glared at him. "You may be my boyfriend now, but my coffee is off limits." I scalded.

Late afternoon...

"OMG!! You guys are finally together now! I KNEW IT! You two are meant for each other. Ooh I bet your bab-" I covered Alexis' loud mouth with my hand and rolled my eyes.

"Alexis, can you please not be over dramatic for once?" I removed my hand from her mouth.

"I could...but then I wouldn't be me, and you love me," she beamed.

"I do." I admitted.

"Now, tell me all the details; did you make the..." My hand was covering her mouth once again.

"There are no details to tell, it just happened naturally. Of course, I had my reservations with the whole him having a girlfriend who he doesn't remember thing, but we can't deny the feelings we have for each other." I explained.

"Well of course he's gonna dump that woman as soon as he gets his memory back." She replied, as if that was the most obvious thing in the world. "I'm starving, lets go raid your fridge." Alexis stood up from my bed and lead me to the kitchen. Marcus was in the living room watching some football, while me and Alexis were having our girl talk. Once Alexis practically emptied the contents of the fridge and my cupboard's, we joined Marcus on the sofa, both of our hands full of junk food. Both our arms were full of Doritos, chocolate rolls, cheese puffs, cookies, marshmallows, popcorn, fizzy drinks and anything else that can raise your cholesterol and give you type 2 diabetes.

"Whoa, where are the rest of the people?" Marcus joked.

"They're all here, Marcus. Alexis accounts for about four people, you account for two and I eat like a normal person, not like ravenous wolfs half starved to death." I replied playfully, building on his joke.

Alexis rolled her eyes at us. "Humans need to eat to survive. Don't judge." She inputted. Marcus put his arm around me and pulled me close. He kissed the top of my head and focused his attention back to the TV screen. Just the smallest of his gestures, makes my heart melt into a pool of contentment.

After the football game (soccer if you live overseas,) was finished, Alexis left. I had no idea which team was playing who, because I couldn't concentrate with me being so close to Marcus. It felt amazing not having to hold back my attraction to him anymore. But I feel guilty now for hiding the note Michael Gory gave me, from him. The only reason why I haven't read it is that I felt so bad about not telling him about the confrontation in the park.

"Marcus?"

"Yeah?" He replied, turning his head to me.

I lifted my head from resting on his shoulder and nervously played with my fingers. "The basic foundation in a relationship is trust, right?" He nodded his head, still not sure where I was going with this. "Well, I've got something to tell you and please don't be angry."

His faced turned serious, and he narrowed his eyes suspiciously. "I can't promise I won't. But if you had to asked me that question then you know that I'm not going to like what you're about to say."

His honesty made me feel even more guilty. "Fair enough. Well, that day when we went to the park with Alexis' niece, and I stayed behind to get her book bag...I ran into Michael in the park and-"

"What!! And you didn't think to tell me?! I asked you if you ran into any trouble in the park, and you just said you were tired!" Marcus closed his eyes and took a deep breath to calm himself. "Alexis, you need to tell me things like this. Especially when your safety is at risk. My worst fear is you being left alone with that sicko." He spoke sternly. His eyes held so much intensity it was a freak of nature, the forest green much more dense and captivating than ever.

"I know. I'm sorry, it's just that you warned me, and I just dismissed your concerns. I guess I had too much pride to tell you." The guilt evident in my eyes.

Marcus' eyes softened and he pulled me onto his lap and kiss me on the cheek. "It alright Victoria. What else happen?" He asked warily.

"When I saw him, I ran and he chased me. I fell on the floor, and I asked him what he wanted and he said revenge. But he did do anything to harm me he just slipped a note in my pocket. He said he had plans for me and admitted that he was behind the break in at Alexis house." When I finished explaining, Marcus' face was solemn and he was trying not to show he how mad he was, yet I could tell. We just sat in silence consumed by our own troubling thoughts. Michael was as sinister as as ever. I remember how my bullet-like words bounced of the bullet-proof wall that was wrapped around his black heart. That's if he had one. He seemed as heartless as he was years ago.

"I really hate that guy," Marcus voiced. "He really needs to get a life, instead of terrorizing other peoples. Things like this are very serious Victoria. Promise me you won't hide things like this again, no secrets between us?" He asked, tilting my chin up so that I was looking him in the eyes.

"I promise Marcus. It won't happen again." He leaned in and planted a lingering kiss on my lips. He pulled away and smiled.

"Well I guess it's time to read that note then? I'm getting a weird sense of deja vu..." We both chuckled in unison.
