"Just do it." Wren whispered to himself. He just had to do it. It was a band aid that needed to be ripped off. He just had to walk up to his parents and say Hey, guess what, I like guys. No big deal.  If Deathbringer didn't have a problem with it, why would his parents? His cousins didn't mind. His mother was bi for crying out loud. This should be nothing.

And yet....

Parrot's reaction was the one that worried Wren the most. He didn't want to disappoint his father, or cause some sort of division between his parents. But Wren also knew that no matter what his parents said, he'd still have dragons that cared about him.

Raven would still care about him and want to be with him. His cousins and Deathbringer would stick up for him. His friends would be there for him. Heck, Aurora would probably be willing to fight someone over it, whether he asked her to or not.

All Wren had to do was tell his parents. Sure, technically his aunts and uncles didn't know either, but he was sure it would get out. He was amazed the rumors hadn't spread across the whole rainforest already. His cousins weren't exactly quiet dragons, and somebody always overheard something. The Rainwings were gossip addicts, and the idea that a Rainforest prince was dating the son of Queen Joy's main enemy would definitely be the center of attention.

That was another thing that worried Wren. Even if his parents accepted him, would they accept his relationship with Raven? Deathbringer did, and Deathbringer hated Macaw, so that was a good sign. But at the same time, Wren's mother was Joy's daughter, and Joy had a deep stetted hatred for Macaw and everyone related to him.

Wren wasn't really sure of the reasoning behind the hatred. Raven had only shrugged when he'd asked and admitted that Raven's mother used to have a crush on Nightflyer, who was a close family friend to Wren's family, so everyone disliked Raven's mother because she tried to break up Nightflyer and Air. Raven's father, Macaw, was a completely different story.

From what Wren had heard, it seemed like Macaw had stalked Joy for a good number of years, but that didn't seem like the cause for such deep hatred towards the dragon. Raven wasn't sure about any of it, only that his parents hated Joy and her family right back now. So Wren was left to wonder if there was something buried in his family; if something that warranted hatred had gone down between the current Rainforest Queen and her old stalker.

But he couldn't be sure, and now was not the time to worry about Joy and Macaw's hatred for each other, and how Wren's entire family had a personal vendetta against Macaw.

Now was the time for Wren to do what would probably be the most terrifying thing of his entire life. Or, at least, that's what it felt like.

He waited until the afternoon, as the sun was starting to set, and the rainforest was calm. His parents were sitting at a table, talking quietly as Wren approached.

"I have to tell you something," He said abruptly, not knowing how else to ease them into this. Rin and Parrot turned their attention to him.

"Okay," Parrot offered. "What is it?" Wren fiddled with his talons, and he knew his scales were going green with anxiousness, but he couldn't help it.

"Wren?" Rin urged.

"I....um..." It occurred to him that he really should've thought up a better plan of what to say, instead of just deciding to wing it. "You know how you and everyone else always say that Aurora and I will end up getting married or something?"

"Yeah," Rin insisted, smiling faintly at the thought.

"Well, that's never gonna happen." He admitted.

"How do you know?" Parrot questioned.

"Because..." Wren took a deep breath. "Because I like boys." Rin blinked.

"So?" Parrot raised an eyebrow. "Boys, girls, you're supposed to like both, right? That's why everybody's got friends that are girls and friends that are guys,"

"Parrot." Rin started, cringing. "Not that type of like." Wren blinked. He thought that had been pretty obvious- or did Parrot really not pay attention to things?

"Then what- OH." Rin facetaloned as it clicked in Parrot's head. Wren glanced between them, unsure. And then Rin smirked deviously.

"I knew it." She declared.

"You did?" Wren frowned.

"Honey, your first words were damn fabulous. I had my suspicions." Rin grinned. "But I'm glad you had the courage to say it. It took me a lot longer. But the fact that you did admit it means Orange owes me money."

"You made a bet on whether or not I was gay?" Wren raised an eyebrow.

"They made a lot of bets." Parrot offered.

"Yeah," Rin agreed. "Permafrost, Orange, Haze, and I made at least ten bets related to our various dragonets and who they'd end up with. So far I'm winning." Wren stifled a laugh.

"But, like, you guys don't mind or anything?" He asked.

"Nope." Parrot shrugged.

"Girls, guys," He waved a talon. "As long as the dragon you date treats you right and makes you happy, I don't really care who they are." Wren smiled.

"So, I suppose we have to tell the rest of the family now, right?" Rin presumed.

"Oh, not really." Wren insisted. "All my cousins know. And so does Deathbringer."

"Why did Deathbringer get to know before me?" Rin demanded.

"He caught me with my boyfriend," Wren admitted.

"Wait, back up," Parrot declared. "What's this about a boyfriend?"
