****Flashback****

I turned to him and said."Dude. You really do have a problem communucating isn't it?"

"You don't the right to talk to me."He finally replied.

****End Of Flashback****

I opened my eyes when I heard my name being called.

"Geraldine Stewart." Mrs Mclauren repeated.

Crap.

I sat up straight immediately.

"Fancy seeing you here sleeping in my class." Mrs Mclauren gave me a glare. "Detention! After School."

She went back to teaching and I just feel like I'm gonna burst.

Lessons just passed. Maybe I was wondering about something or was I doodling?

I forgot.

The bell rang for lunch break. Finally.

I stood up confidently. I mentally screamed,"Yes!".

I started heading out of the classroom.

"Geraldine! Hey! " A voice called out.

I turned to look at who was that.

"Hey! Remember me?" The boy asked.

"Yeah..you're Travis. The new guy right? " I stopped walking.

"Yeah...but we have met before." He continued.

"Hm? Really? " I asked, confused.

"Yeah..so is your ankle alright?" He asked.

Hold on. The only one who would know my ankle was sprained was my Dad and ..him?

"Wait.Wait. Aren't you the guy that helped me-"

"Yes. Finally you remember." He laughed.

I felt so embarrassed. "Sorry! Erm..Thank you so much for that."

He laughed again."It doesn't matter. It was weeks ago. I didn't expect us to meet again. But when I came to this school, I saw you but I wasn't sure. Until Mrs Mclauren called your name."

"Yeahh..sure. Sure." Still feeling embarrassed.

We started talking as we walked to the cafeteria together. Travis was a very easy-going person, we hit it off immediately.

"Geraldine!" Erika waved. She was sitting with Erika, Joseph and Emmanuel. I walked over with Travis.

"Who's he?" Elizabeth asked.

I looked at Travis and started laughing.

"He's a friend."

"Hi Guys. I'm Travis." He smiled.

"Hi!" Erika waved back. Elizabeth waved too. But Joseph and Emmanuel? No expression.

Travis sat next to me. And we talked about different things.

"So what's your favorite food?" Travis asked.

"Japanese food!" I replied with enthusiasm.

"Are you serious? I love it! Let's go grab a bite someday!"

We continued talking as if we were the only ones there.

Emmanuel stood up. "I'll leave first." We were all confused.

Emo..that's all I could think of.

Emmanuel turned to leave but then Tracy came in front of him.

"Hey Emmanuel." She winked and then she turned to us.

"Wow. New Guy huh? What's your name?" She asked with that high-pitched voice of hers.

"Travis. " He replied.

"Travis..you're pretty hot..wanna go out sometime? " She laughed.

What is wrong with her? I wanted to stand up and confront her.

"No. Thank you." He replied calmly. I looked at him and then to Tracy, she was embarrassed.

"You are blocking my way. Move it." Emmanuel said coldly to her.

Tracy's face turned red, she started to walk away from us.

I looked at Travis and gave him a smile. I was so impressed by that maturity.

"Wow. Travis. You crushed her flat." Elizabeth joked.

Travis laughed. I laughed too and sat down.

School ended. Everyone went home including Erika and Elizabeth.

And I had to stay back for detention. I sat in the classroom looking out of the window.

The vibration of my phone broke that peaceful moment.

It was a message from an unknown number. It says:

"Hey Geraldine. I'll wait for you after school. Meet you at the garden after your detention. -Travis"

Oh. Right. It was from Travis. We exchanged phone numbers earlier just now. I smiled to myself.

And after a long boring period of time, detention was finally over.

I ran down to the garden. I looked around. Didn't he say he would be here?

I scanned through the garden and spotted someone. Travis. He was sleeping on the bench.

I started giggling. I quietly walked towards him. I played with his hair at first.

Suddenly my hands stopped. I watched him as the sun rays fell on his face and hair.

He was actually handsome...unknowingly I started touching his hair. I didn't know what I was doing.

I looked up as I felt a presence nearby.

Emmanuel was standing a few meters away. He was looking at me. I couldn't tell what he felt. His face was cold. Like how it always was. But this time...this time...a tinge of sadness could be felt.

I stared at him. Our eyes met but then before I could say anything, he left.

I watched his leaving figure go.

Oh..Emmanuel...
