The next morning I woke up and the sun shone straight into my eye.

“Ow.” I complained and rubbed my eyes. Alex stirred.

“What’s wrong?” Alex asked worry evident in his tone.

“Nothing the sun just went straight in my eye but I’m fine.” I replied. Just then the nurse we were arguing with yesterday walked in.

“You are free to leave whenever you want to just be careful of your ribs and be sure to sign out.” She said before she walked out again.

“Touchy.” I said as we watched her retreating back.

“Well if we get changed we can go home and pack for school.” Alex said.

“Okay, well, um, I better go and get changed,” I said before getting up, grabbing my clothes and walked to the bathroom.

When I came back in Alex was sitting on the bed waiting.

“Okay, are you ready to go?” He asked when he saw me in the door.

“Yup, let’s go.”

“The car is parked around the back.” Alex told me.

“Okay, let’s go.” I said as I got up carefully so as not to damage my already broken ribs. I winced slightly.

“Are you okay?” Alex asked worried.

“Yeah I’ll be fine; I just stood up too quickly.” Alex still looked worried but dropped the subject. We slowly made our way down the stairs and to the office.

“Hi, my name’s Autumn Summers. Is here were I sign out?” I asked.

“Yes, sure. We’ll need to book you in for another appointment in a few weeks just to make sure you are healing properly.” The lady behind the desk smiled.

“Thank you.” I said before Alex and I made our way out of the front doors and to the car.

By the time we got back to the house it was 12am. We walked in and I was engulfed in a hug from a very worried Sam.

“Thank God you’re okay.” She cried and hugged me in her infamous bear hug.

“Ow.” I jumped slightly as she hugged my broken ribs.

“Oh my God, are you okay?” she asked releasing me immediately.

“Yeah just my ribs don’t worry about it.” I said calmly trying not to worry her too much but not quite covering the pain well enough as Sam immediately let go of me.

Just then Tom and Dan came careering out of the sitting room and engulfed me in a death grip. I winced and they both noticed and let go of me the same as Sam had.

“Are you ok?” Dan asked with a worried look on his face.

“Yeah what’s wrong?” Tom asked with a matching worried look.

“It’s just my ribs still hurt don’t worry about it.” I replied. But like Sam they didn’t look convinced. “I’m fine really.” I said pleading with my eyes for them to believe me.

“OK, well, let us know if you feel worse ok?” Sam said sternly.

“Ok” I said laughing lightly but stopping as it hurt my ribs.

“I mean it.” she said pretending to act like my mum.

When we had all finished saying our hellos I slowly walked up to my room to pack for school tomorrow. Sam decided to follow me up to my room – I’m guessing to make sure I didn’t hurt myself more. When I got up to my room I knelt down to grab my suitcase from under the bed before I started to pack up all my things. When I was finished I lined my bags up by the door before sitting down on my bed. Sam sat beside me and leaned back on her arms and looked over at me expectantly.

“What?” I asked looking at her confused.

“Soo...” she said clicking her heels together. “What happened at the hospital?” She asked looking excited.

“Nothing, I was in hospital and Alex stayed with me and then my mum came to visit me and met him” I replied. She looked away for a minute before looking back over at me.

“Well that’s boring.” She replied. I couldn’t help but laugh at her wistful look. Just then Alex walked in.

“Hi, I was just checking you were ok.” He smiled before walking over and kissing me lightly. “I see you’ve packed.” He smiled as he saw my line of suit cases.

“I’m going to go and leave you two alone.” Sam said. To be perfectly honest I hadn’t realised that she was still there.

“Mm” I mumbled before wrapping my arms around Alex’ neck and kissing him.

”I love you.” He murmured into my lips.

“I love you too.” I replied smiling into the kiss. Suddenly my stomach started to grumble causing me to blush a deep red.

“You hungry?” Alex laughed as we pulled away. I nodded as we got up and walked down stairs into the kitchen holding hands. I quickly walked over to the cupboard and got cereal and went up on my tip toes to grab a bowl suddenly I felt cool arms snake around my waist.

“Eep!” I squealed before putting the bowl down and spinning around before kissing Alex. He smiled before we heard someone cleared their throat. We quickly broke apart and looked around to find Dan.  I quickly got my cereal and poured milk on it before grabbing a spoon and walking into the kitchen to find everyone else.

“Why are you eating cereal at 7 at night?” Tom asked confused.

“’Cause I am.” I replied plainly before Alex walked in and sat next to me circling his arms around my waist and getting comfy. When I was finished, I put the bowl on the table and curled up into Alex’s chest, getting comfy.

“Do you guys wanna watch a film?” Dan asked as he walked in. Everyone nodded “What you wanna watch?” He asked.

“Don’t mind.” Me, Sam and Alex replied so Tom and Dan went to pick a film. When they had chosen they came back in and put it on. They had chosen to watch ‘The Grudge’. I spent most of the film curled up hiding my face in Alex’s chest as he stroked my hair. Sam was curled up into Jamie. When the film ended they went to go and get another film, they came back in with ‘Phantom of the Opera’ which I had seen too many times but I stayed quiet because it was like one of my favourite films. But by the end of the film I had fallen asleep still in Alex’s arms.
