(SnK) Mike Zacharias x Reader - I'm Here For You

It was three days after the encounter with Beast Titan and currently, you were sitting on Mike's desk, helping him with his papers. Once or twice in an hour, you would check up on him in his room. You look at his sleeping figure, trying to recover from the traumatic event. Yes, he was saved during that expedition thanks to your stubbornness.

Mike has ordered his squad to leave the place immediately after sensing the Beast Titan was coming. You tried to deny his order and wanted to stay with him instead, but he yelled at you so hard you couldn't do anything and started to leave the place with your fist clenched tightly. Or so that was what he thought.

Eventually, after being dismantled from his gear by the Beast Titan and surrounded by other titans, you came back to him just as one of those titans reached an arm toward him. You managed to bring him out from those titans to the forest, but unfortunately, you ran into a titan on your way. It was a normal titan but due to the weight you're carrying, you couldn't avoid its grasp perfectly, making you lost your balance and fell hard to the ground with Mike. You two looked in horror as the titan starting to approach you. Mike screamed at you to go without him, but your leg was damaged and you're too stubborn to leave him.

"I don't want to be the only one saved!!" You screamed back at him.

He grits his teeth tightly and cursed under his breath because he couldn't move even if he wanted to. His legs were too shaky after those horror events.

When the titan was about to reached them, it's suddenly screeched and fell to the ground in front of you. You looked at the titan in confuse when your friend on your squad yelled from behind the titan. Apparently, they all came back for you and Mike. You felt glad and thanking them for saving you two, but Mike didn't say anything until your current state right now.

You've finally finished your work and started to walk back to your own room, until you heard noise from his room. It sounded like someone is in pain. You quickly turn your heels and run into his room. There, you found him sweating and mumbling in his sleep, shifting uncomfortably on his bed. You run into his side and sit beside him on his bed.

"Mike? Mike are you okay?" You shake him lightly but he didn't awake.

"G-go away... don't- don't eat me, p-please...!"

"Mike, wake up! It's only a nightmare!" Now you shake him with more force, you didn't want to see him in pain like that.

He's rarely talking and showing his emotion, so when you saw his horror and pained face, your heart was break. All of sudden, your arm was grabbed and you were being pulled to his body with much force. You blushed and let out a yelp when he places his hands on your back and embrace you tightly like his life was depend on it. You couldn't move a muscle so you just say his name again and again, trying to wake him up. After minutes, you feel his arms started to loosen so you try to lift your body from him. Finally, he begins to gain his consciousness and look around his room with horror still on his beautiful grey eyes.

"Mike?" Your voice was calm and soothing.

"(Y-Y/N)...?" He looks at you then his room, then you again. "I-I... where am..."

"You're in your room." You answer almost immediately. "It's alright, Mike... you're alright..." You caress his cheek while tears started to glisten on his eyes.

"(Y-Y/N), those t-titans tried to eat me... there were so many of them, but I couldn't do anything...!" He grips her shoulders tightly.

"Shhh it's okay, Mike. It was only a dream. You're safe now I assure you. Look, you have me beside you!" You give a reassuring smile.

He just stares at your loving eyes then pulls you back against him with same force, making you gasp and blush again. He rubs his hand back and forth on your back, trying to feel that you're real, and takes a deep breath to inhale your scent.

"It's really you." He whispers in the silent night.

"Yeah, it's me." You relax on his embrace and put your hand on his chest.

"...they were trying to grab me and eat me, but... I saw you came for me and saved me from their reach." His grips tighten slightly. "And because of that... you injured your legs..."

You exhale on his chest and tilt your head up to see his face. He seems to notice this and loosen his hold so you can move and facing his face. Your face is just an inch to his you could feel his hot breath on you. Instead of answering him, you hold his face with both your hands, swipe the tears that about to fall from his eyes and kiss his forehead, making his eyes widen slightly.

"Don't worry, Mike. That's why you have me on your side. After all, it's not a bad injury, my legs has healed by now." You smile at him. "Now go back to sleep, okay? You need some rest to refresh your mind."

As you try to lift your body, he doesn't let you go, making you look at him in confuse.

"Stay? ...please?"

You blush lightly but nod at his request. He shifts his body to give you space beside him and you went under the blanket with him. His hand placed back on your waist and pulled you closer to him. His breath finally begins to steady.

"Thank you, (Y/N)..." He takes one last sniff at your hair and went to sleep peacefully.

You chuckled lightly, hugging him back and snuggling at his chest until you find a peaceful sleep too.

"I'm here for you, Mike."
